  1. I hope the head gasket works, but I kinda think it's the carb setup. if it's not too drastic and your not fouling on one side then don't worry too much. You can jet the one carb to fine tune that cylinder. I've heard of several that would do that, just because of what I said earlier where the one side has a possibility of running leaner/richer due to the dual carbs, this is especially prevalent with the stock carbs. Anyway, good luck and let us know how it works out.
  2. Hope it works out man. That is such a frigging shitty deal. Wish the very best of luck to ya.
  3. You ain't serious you think?
  4. hell yeah I'd try that shit out. When I get my junk ported and cranked, I'm looking at trying a 39mm or around there. Don't know how it'd work out, but I'd sure as hell like to have some input. I imagine the mid and top would be ruthless and I bet you'll have some good low still. Give 'er a try.
  5. tig welds are the cleanest of all welds the heat is more pinpointed, that helps from weakening everything around it the welds are super strong risky welds with stick, easy to burn through oh, and they are really good looking welds. you can get the job done with a mig though. let us know how it turns out.
  6. air hammer air hammer replace them with allen heads and your life will be a dream. i did that before i got into trouble.
  7. The Schick Quattro works the best, though I've had good luck with the Mach 3. Seriously, send boonman a private message and he will hook you up by milling your head just the way you want it perfectly and in a speedy time. Guaranteed!! He's done quite a few that I know about and I'm sure loads that I don't know about. Scott
  8. All the above are correct. the impeller is a cheap and easy upgrade that will flow more coolant through the motor and since the stocker is a cheap hunk of plastic, it's a good idea to get rid of it. An aftmkt radiator is not a bad idea but overkill with a stock motor unless you are very hard on it in rugged hot climates. Another thing I highly recommend is replace all the engine coolant with Engine Ice brand coolant. It runs cooler, transfers heat better and looks cool as hell in the bottle. It also runs cooler than Water Wetter. Seriously, it will help your motor run cooler, that and an impeller and you'll drop some temps inside your motor. Engine Ice
  9. sure you don't mean, "how many licks"????
  10. 4 stroke down = 1 stroke (intake) up = 1 stroke (compression) down = 1 stroke (spark) up =1 stroke (exhaust) 2 stroke down = 1 stroke (intake + exhaust) up = 1 stroke (compression + spark) The 2 stroke does the same work with half the effort.
  11. Banchetta's got you covered. Mine liked a 27.5 and 310 main, but she likes it a little rich, do what he told you and you'll be in banshee bliss.
  12. Seriously, I know you think you have it all the way, but it's not going. If it's not pressed right, it's a serious bitch. Best thing to do is get a $15 chain press, or get a pair of good sized vice grips and grind a deep v into the top jaw, that way you can press around the little post thing and get it super tight, still chain press is the way to go. Later.
  13. Yeah, I talked to him a few weeks ago and just mentioned something about quads, and he said he is trying to sell it. That's too bad. When he puts up the shop, he'll want a banshee to put in it. Cool. Nice talking, and we still have to hook up. I need to hook up with Banshee76179 too so I can try out his ported single carb. Later.
  14. Check it. Banshee HQ chat.
  15. Happy Birthday, glad it finally came. That's a great age to be. Now, the years started to sail by after that for me, although I'm only 27, it feels like yesterday, guess that's what wife and kids do.

    Dune Shocks

Hey ranshee, when you call whatever mfg. you decide to go with, they will talk to you about the type of riding you do and will set them up to go along with that. If you ride MX, then your shocks will be setup for that, but if you ride dunes/desert then they'll be more suited for that style of riding. It doesn't really have to do with the mfg., it has to do with the setup. Go with whatever you can afford. Scott
  17. What size is the carb, what pilot are you running, and what's the needle postion? Also, how is your airbox/air filter setup? What's your elevation?
  18. It's an ideal setup for motocross. Great low and mid power, pretty good top end power. No problems, very easy to setup and easy to dial in at the track. Much easier to deal with than the dang dual carbs. It ran very well for me at the dunes also. I'd say get the 35mm over the 33mm for the additional air you'll get. Will help out later on with more mods.
  19. you know, spiderman doesn't really do anything for me anymore.
  20. I know Scott Sanders from when he used to work at Dennards. I own Redish Construction here in Whitesboro and my company does a lot of work with them at C&L. Why is he selling his quad??
  21. you probably won't go wrong with the dirtdigger, but the EBC seems to grab a little harder. Might just be the springs also, I put in some stronger springs from EBC. I like them both, and the I haen't tested longevity on the EBC, though a bud says it's much longer. I didn't really mean that dirtdigger is a bad clutch, just seem to like the EBC better. Can't go wrong either way.
  22. Why thank you, I've always thought that, nice for someone to agree.
  23. honestly, it is possible for one side to run a tad richer/leaner than the other with dual carbs, especially the stock dual carbs. Depending on how much is the question. Which side is smoking? Have you done any work on the carbs recently, and how long has it been doing this? What are your mods, and this probably doesn't belong in the General Discussion area. Later.
  24. did you move the needle? if your full throttle is still running strong, play with the needle some more.
