  6. what's the purpose for those plugs????
  7. Taking it off is one thing, but i'm kinda leary on puting it back on w/ an impact. I don't know for sure, but doesn't that nut have a torque spec??? I just wouldn't want to over tighten some thing that spins and have it "bind up".....like i said, i dont know for sure if it's torqued....but thats just me..
  8. I just used a regular 17mm deep socket(dont have an impact socket that size), on my impact gun. Came right off. Be careful though, if your gonna use a regular socket on the impact....they've been known to shatter... If you dont have an impact, try sticking a screwdriver through one of the holes on the flywheel(being careful not to damage the stator) and use it as a lever as you try to get the nut off.
  9. Wait i wanna change my answer......
  10. I just took mine off today. Used an impact, w/ a regular socket and it came right off. No need to worry about holding it in place if your using an impact...
  11. I'd still have the R1....and a 748r track bike
  12. Most of the time i just wipe it off, w/ a california car duster.... If she needs a good cleaning, i use that "car wash" liquid soap, in water. I'll use a regular towel on the plastics and stuff, and a scrub brush on the chain, swing arm, axle....... I always dry it off afterwards...the water here is "hard" and'll leave spots, not only that but it dosnt take rust long to set in, if not dried.. Spray a little WD-40 on the pipes, and wipe it off.... If i'm really board, i'll break out the ol metal polish and do the rims and stuff... Make sure you cover your air box and filter when you wash it... if you run w/ out a lid...
  13. Do a search for "lightened flywheel".....lots of past posts on this.... I just did that search myself.... i hope to get my stuff sent out this week....
  14. over modded already..... ..... good luck... ...

I still have his home address and phone number if anyone, in PA wants to pay him a visit....
  19. WAS untainted.............
  20. banshee04le- Where did you pick up your high out put alt? Was it a direct bolt on/plug in, or did you have to do some mods to get 'er to work? If you have any pics of that set up(batteries and alt) could you email me a few [email protected] I'm going to be doing a tune up, and plenum gasket([censored]ing Dodge engineering) replacement this weekend, so i figure as long as the old alternator has to come off, might as well replace it with a new(HO) one. if anyone happens to be in the area this weekend, and wants to help out, i'd be more then happy to supply the beer/pizza!!!.....
  21. *update* It's working just fine now...... I had some free time this morning, so i pulled out the head unit, disconnected everything, blew it out, plugged everything back together, and put 'er back in the dash. I still don't know what the cause of the problem was (maybe bad ground, connection dirty or not fully connected) but whatever it was, it's not doing it anymore! (knock on wood!) I'll most likely put in a high out put alternater(been wanting to this for a while anyway), and a few other things you guys mentioned (new battery cables, and rewire the amp's power wire to the "other" + terminal on the battery<(thanks Duc). Thanks again for all the input!!....
  22. Thanks for all the replies guys. Looks like i won't be riding Sunday.... Thanks again for all the help!
  23. I bought an older amp and subs from a buddy of mine who also installed it in my truck(bout 2 years ago). Lately it's been cutting out (power) and then comes right back on. It only does it at higher volumes, and only while listening to a CD(doesn't do it when listening to the radio). I didn't think it could be a short, because of it only happening in CD mode (could be wrong???) I checked the connections, and the all look to be secure and in good condition. I also tried turing the amp down. Didn't help. any tips or suggestions????
  24. I have an old set of EYE 2's......good club, but it doesnt really matter, cause i can't hit for sh!t.....
  25. I'm the same way.... most of the stickers i have end up on tool boxes, hard hats...
