  1. I purchased the rubber boots for my Boss intakes from UPP.This was a couple years ago,but i think they were only 13.00 plus shipping.
  2. Fired this up for the first time today.I'm very excited!!!
  3. Dominic Whats up buddy,Sorry to see you let her go. Whoever purchases this bike will not be disappointed,It has the best of everything+is a real strong runner. This was the fastest bike of our group last year(Glamis)+also a great dune machine! Good luck with the sale.
  4. This is based on my experience with those carbs on my setup.I have never tried to run or tune them without it installed or capped.I also run Boss intakes with no crossover. If my theory is correct there would be no reason not to plug it when running a single carb.
  5. Those ports should be connected to each other,as a balance tube.Same principle as the crossover tube on the intakes.
  6. I don't know how to explain this any clearer.Using those needles in the 28's,will be like putting telephone poles in place of toothpicks. There will be no room left for fuel to flow threw your main jets assuming they even fit.
  7. You will be looking for new needles. Sorry i had to say that.I believe Kevin is an excellent builder+he made a honest mistake.
  8. I have both sets of needles in question,in my hand as i type this.they are two totally different animals. The cel is twice the diameter+3/8of a inch longer. This will not work in the 28's! Your builder is obviously not familiar with the 28pwk's or he's clueless.
  9. Those would be correct for the 33 or larger series carbs. The 28's take totally different needles, they are allot smaller.I've had verry good results with jjh needles when running the 28's.Now with the 33's on the same engine i run cel needles.Hope that helps. John
  10. The CEL Is the wrong needles for those carbs. They will not work+you will be wasting your money.
  11. My set up is very similar to yours.4mil long rod,mx port, high comp,t'5s,Pods or open air box. With 28pwk's at sea level,@70deg i ran 48pilets,jjh needles 4th clip,162 mains, air screws 1 1/4 out.I doubt your sucking the bowls dry unless your running peaked out for more than a half mile.It is possible to suck the bowls dry,the right side is usually the first to go dry.I did just that a couple years ago on a white knuckle run along the canal to Mexico. My gps said i averaged 67mph for over 11 miles before she popped.I now run 33's
  12. At sea level, aprox 70deg.You should be around 320 mains,3rd clip,25 pilots 3/4 to one turn out with the air screws.
  13. 25's Brian,how's that beast running?
  14. Heading to Pittsfield State forest Friday afternoon for a weekend of ridding+camping. Will be there with a small group. If anyone else is interested in the mayhem, stop by or pm me for my cell.
  15. If you prep it,I'll do it for 25 beans.
  16. No ,the needles from the larger carbs won't work.JJH or JKH is what i would recommend. On my 4 mill mx port the JJH's worked great, but JKH would of been optimum for my application. This was with 48 pilots,162-165 mains,1 1/4 turns out on the air screws,1st or 2nd clip down. Sea level,65deg.
  17. Will.Give me a call.My bro just upgraded+has a nice pair of Works triple rate, non adjustable, remote rezzy shocks.150.00+the ride, they would be a big improvement over what you have now.
  18. If it's a fresh top end or already broken in it should make absolutely no difference in the jetting requirements.I've noticed most people(including me)who run those carbs at or around sea level favor CEL needles,48-52 piolets,155-165 mains.Seeing your at 2000ft the richer taper needles you have might be too much+require leaner mains.I would start with a 48piolets+162 mains.
  19. I have used both+prefer the PWK's.I had allot more of a challenge dialing in the tune on the Mikunies.
  20. I am just a guest myself of one of the guys on the the clean up crew there. The place is all most to good to be true.I've only been a couple times now,but hopefully I'll be going more often. Most of my ridding buddy's are flat track racing in Windsor Conn. today.
  21. I live on the Cape and legal ridding here is nonexistent. There are some state parks in the western part of the state that offer legal ridding. From what i understand there is a guy in Plympton,is very close to opening a atv park in that town.I've been ridding legally at the (closed) Ottis Air force Base. It's not open to the public or the environmental police either. You must have military ID,or be a guest of someone working on the base to get by the armed guards with M16's at the gates.
  22. To determine if the float system is working correctly+at what height it shuts off.Remove carb+bowl.Hold upright.Add new piece of fuel line to carb+blow into it.While manually moving float to see where it stops the flow.Adjust float tabs accordingly.Worked for me. Hope that helps.
  23. Pm me your addy.Glad to help. Can't say how many times you've bailed Joe+myself out of some big jams.
  24. Found it+it is the right side.If you can wait a couple days,i can probably find a clutch cover to send too.
