or something is loose at the carrier or adjusters and shifting under pressure are you sure everything is tightened up?

i just finished redoing my clutch this morning and got to ride a little today. Hinson basket, new stock hub and pressure plate, Tusk clutch kit, and like locogato said, there's a definite change in feel of power to the ground. i kept all 6 EBC HD springs in her though, and now i see why a lot of guys go with 3 stockers, and 3 HD's But so far, I'm impressed with my Tusk kit. can't beat it for $35

is it just the view, or does that thing seem to hang pretty low? i think i'm liking the xcl more and more, after some of these pics. still would like to see it on one though. i haven't found any pics of that one yet.

looks like it will be deflecting snow balls if i go riding this weekend!! damn, i'm ready for spring/summer.

i have had 12 pt sockets slip, strip out, split, and bust my knuckles more times than i care to remember and haven't had anyways near the problems with 6 pts.

well the dealer hooked me up at no cost. straightened out what was left of the threads enough to get a bolt back in. i figured if i just snug it up, and put the locking tab back over it it will be fine. it's not like it needs to be tight anyway. i like seeing other stories like mine, it makes me feel better know someone else has bad luck from time to time too.

my nephew is desperately wanting to ditch his stockers and get some new treads on his '03 blaster. it's all stock yet. he really likes the shredders and they are cheaper than some others. i like the razr's and have heard good things about the kenda klaw's too, but they seem of 'balloony' like the stockers. i run ps bandits on my shee. i'm sure a blaster will handle tires differently than a banshee though. any suggestions?? oh yeah, and the $45-$50 range is where he needs to be also.

finally after waiting almost 2 months of being on back order at rocky mtn. i got my airframe today, the matte black one. i guess i'd say i'm anxious to get some use out of it, but then again i'm not really looking forward to 'stress testing' it. anybody else have any experience with it?? it also seems like it should be comfortable to wear riding, yes, no??

the stealership hasn't gotten all of my clutch parts in yet so i'm looking for other things to tinker with and hmmm, my rear brake pads need changed. no biggie, right? one of the bolts for the pads turned out about 1 full turn and then froze up. so i soaked it down with wd-40 and slowly turned it back in. soaked and worked that bolt in and out for 20 minutes till it finally came out. damned if it didnt' still mess up the threads inside the caliper and the bolt. the bolts no bid deal, but i do not want to replace a caliper for that bullshit. i don't have a tap set, or thread cleaner to work with it, so i'm gonna try to hit up the shop to fix it, or take it to work and have my buddy in maintenance fix me up. hopefully!! why is it that the simplest jobs always turn into a bitch of a job.

yeah i wish they would show their products on the quads so you can see what they actually would look like. i thought the xc (3 bar) would look better on the craptor than a shee, and i was leaning toward the xcl. i'm undecided also till i see one on a shee.

leverage is the key. get yourself a big ass breaker bar with the regular 6 point socket, not a pos 12 point, and a pipe. i usually use the handle from my floor jack. it works great for things like this.

how much gearcase fluid is ideal 2.5qts?
MILO replied to trialsallday's topic in General Banshee Discussion
usually 1.5 to 2 qts. -
thanks SDD. i ordered the basket with cushions so yeah i have them. i was hoping the rest would be cool to run with.

i have a family plan too, with my wife, father, and mother-in- law on it. it was my idea, and i pushed and talked them into it. but now my statements all show me as having the least amount of calls. not only that, but by far the least amount of time used. and 90% of my time is to my wife or dad. my wife and mother- in- law average at least double what my dad or i do every month. gee, i'm glad i broke down and got myself a cell phone!! also we have 900 minutes on our plan and rarely use 1/4 of that since most of our calls are between each other!
-
ugghhh, that would suck! you know, you never did say if you spit it out or swallowed it down after figuring it out.

most of my parts are finally here, the rest should be here to pick up this afternoon. i just have a few questions about the installation. with my clymer's, it shouldn't be bad at all, but it does say to reinstall the rubber cushions between the plates, and sais nothing about the 'paper' gasket on the back side of the basket. do i really need either one?? my new tusk kit doesn't have new cushions with it. also my pushrod has a little bit of bluing on the ends like it was overheated sometime, the ball is spotless. it doesn't seem to be warped at all though and is perfectly smooth. i'm assuming that occurred when my clutch was slipping so bad before i parked it. it should be ok to still use it, right??

congrats the best advice ever: only head to the stealership after exhausting all other options.
-
unhook your e-brake, sometimes the problem is with that. what do you mean by 'this new gas' and 'a different gas'?? just the mix or what? if your stock, reset your air screws to 2 turns out and see if that helps. 340 mains seem pretty big, not knowing your mods though. list your mods and elevation.
-
idle to 1/8 throttle is controlled thru the pilot jet, or maybe your air screws need tweeked a bit.

it's always good to ask around to help you out when your stuck, it gives another perspective and everybody's had their own little problems that others haven't or don't know about. but the best, free advice i've ever found is here at the HQ. too many times the stealer will say, well bring it in and we'll check it out. yeah, for $40 and hour, i'm sure they'll happily invest a lot of time in fixing your problem. there is ALWAYS an answer here. sometimes you just have to ask the right question

welcome to the HQ, and welcome to the world of the banshee. there's not a thing wrong with your shee if it's tryin to buck you off of her. you just need to hold on a little tighter, that's all. what kind of riding do you do, trails, open country, dunes? either way you'll get the feel for it soon and learn to manipulate the power band, a little slip of the clutch here and there and that low end bog will be a thing of the past for you. sounds like besides breaking in the motor, a little rider break in is needed too. just don't rush into things. pace yourself and know your limits. a banshee is a hell of a ride for a 1st timer, but don't let it intimidate you. if your afraid of it, then you're in trouble, maybe it's not the ride for you. take your time and grow into it, before long you'll be addicted to the speed and wanting to mod it up for more. it's never fast enough and this is the place to come to bring it all together.

woohoo, i was right! just think how you'd feel if the stealership told you that, after about $100 of labor costs! i always search the HQ before even considering contacting a stealership. glad to hear you got her fixed up.
