bluejob - lol. lean jetting is the root cause. my pc's blued and gold-ed when i started jetting for them, about 6" or so from the motor. upped the mains and cured it. mothers polish seem to clean them up some, at least it took away some of the discoloration. but i like my 2 tone pc's now.

sorry bud. but he didn't want holeshots anyway. like the look and heard they grab good, but wear out quick. he had his head set on shredders so we had to search everywhere for them till we got a good deal.

i just put in the tusk kit with all 6 EBC hd springs. working great so far. seems to grab really well no problems yet with about 6 hrs or so on it.

i run without the lid all the time. just check and clean your filters pretty often. i took off the drain catch on the bottom of the box too so if water does get in there it will drain right back out. lose the lid, and let her breathe. she'll pull alot harder without it and it sounds so... sweet! i went up to 360 mains after losing the lid with my pc's, and pro flow filter. elevation about 1200ft., summer weather in S-central Pa.

once you get it a apart, inspect the hub, basket, and pressure plate carefully. my basket fingers were worn noticably, grooved out from the clutch plates riding/wearing on them. my inner hub and pressure plate were full of stress cracks. replaced with a hinson basket and new stocker hub and pp., tusk clutch kit with all 6 hd springs. makes for a little harder pull, but it's tolerable. best advice: get a clymer's and follow it religiously

here's a note that i saved from somewhere once: The numbers on an ATV tire are very important. If the tire that you have is a 22x11x8; The 22 stands for the tire being 22 inches tall. The 11 stands for the tire being 11 inches wide , 8 means the tire is to be mounted on an 8-inch rim. Atv tires have some leeway in sizing just make sure that the last number is the same or you

i'm one of those members no problems here either.

i run pure sport bandits and they hook up great on the trails, muddy or not.

$32 for shipping from rocky mtn - so we hit the local shops and tire shops again. found them for $47 a tire at a tire shop, + mounting. they hook up great and look sweet. 10x better than the stockers. my nephew couldn't be happier!

i usually change mine about 2-3 times during my normal riding season, late march- early october. but i'm lucky to get out for a few hours a week, and a poker run here and there, so there's really not all that much time on it. i thought guys that just changed it after every ride were a little nuts, then i saw in my hinson papers that you should. yeah, it's really not that expensive vs. the damage that could occur from poor maintenance, but i guess it all depends on what you put it thru too. thanks for the input BenBB.

Question about lower a arm ball joints?
MILO replied to trail rider's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
no offense to anyone, but i hate the thought of buying used parts, especially something like this. looks like an excuse to upgrade to me. but if the cash is the deciding factor, and you get used stockers, just be sure it is someone that can be trusted or who will stand behind the deal. -
i wouldn't either. going to wide by that method wil cause excess stress on your hubs, axle, carrier and bearings. if you want wider, doesn't somebody make a longer axle?? i'm sure they would be pricey though compared to shims.
-
personally, if i was replacing the rotor, i'd replace the pads at the same time. i wouldn't want to trash a new rotor due to failure of old pads. i use EBC severe duty pads on my shee and my nephew's blaster. they stop great and seem to wear very well. $25 a set from Rocky Mtn.

yep. any changes that you make that will increase air flow will require jetting changes to compensate. i also put some fine window screen over the opening after removing the snorkel to keep junk out of the box. just make sure you clean everything up frequently. -
i've seen on here where lots of guys will change their oil after every ride the instructions with my new hinson basket states to do that also. WHY?? surely the oil doesn't break down that quickly. i understand if you race, of any sort, to eliminate problems as much as possible considering the constant pounding, but why in the world would need to do it that often otherwise. if you get that much debris in your oil after one ride than you have other problems that you need to address.

i have the upp kit on mine and haven't had any problems whatsoever. it seems to be wearing really well too.
-
you'll probably have to beat the snot out of the axle to get it out of the carrier anyway, maybe that will help break the sprocket loose.
-
yeah man, visegrips or a good pair of channel locks

for all the protection they might provide for your shins and ankles, what about your toes. i'd rather wear my steel toe work boots if riding boots having nothing in the toes.

i believe i got my cell phone in late september, early october, and i have a total call time of almost 14 hours. that's 840 minutes over 6 months!!! i can't imagine having that much in one month, much less going way over that!

i'm just glad to see that there is a religious discussion going on here. too many people take for granted what Christmas and Easter are all about. at 'X-mas', they ignore or don't even know what the gift giving is all about or how it originated, and why Easter is so important as well. Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny are all they think about, or they compare Christ as just another fictional character in the mix. how people can consistently celebrate Christmas yet denounce the existance of God and Jesus is beyond me. how can you celebrate something that you don't believe in? i guess it should be Santamas for them. i hate seeing 'X-mas', attempts to remove 'God' from the pledge of allegicance, or from money, or the 10 commandments being withdrawn from public places. this world is falling down exactly as the Bible states, yet people totally refuse to accept even a possibility that the Bible is the guide to what has happened, what is happening, and will happen in the future. but i'm glad to know where i'm gonna end up at the end of it all.

thanks man! i think we're gonna order them after the holiday. Rocky Mtn. seems to be the best deal, once again!

get a clymer's manual. don't waste your $$ on anything else! steve1982, if your still breaking her in, stick with the yamalube at 24:1, then go to 32:1 if you still use yamalube after. better safe than sorry, right? hit up the jetting forum, sounds like the needles need adjusted. -
i don't if know anyone else has ever done this, I didn't find it in any searches on here, but i had to do something to get this bitch tightened up without the special tool. i took a few steel plates and fiber plates, lined them up, drilled and screwed them together and threw them on to lock the hub and basket together to create resistance. stuffed a wrag into the gears also. torqued right up to the spec, no problem. not bragging, but i thought it might be helpful for someone else.
