  1. if nothing else they would help to keep the fenders from flexing and making the shitty looking stress marks all over them. man, i hate seeing shees with droopy fenders!! those are a good idea in my book.
  2. i tossed mine when i put in my tusk kit, no problems here. i think even with the stock set up they just help to cut down on the clutch 'chatter'.
  3. here's a pic of my little 8 pt i shot about in the middle of the pa archery season... here's some of my previous trophies
  4. i've been using the ebc severe duty pads on my shee and nephew's blaster for a few years now. they work awesome even in the wettest, muddiest trails we've been on. seem to last a long time too.
  5. i've been using the renthal sprockets for a few years now with did x-ring chains. i'm sure i'll get the same set up again when it comes time cuz i haven't had any issues and they seem to wear pretty well. keeping your chain adjusted properly is a major factor for any chain/sprocket life though.
  6. i've been in this boat before. i let my brother in law take a quick trip on my cbr600 once, he said he has ridden a lot before, and was only home from the navy for a few days, so i figured ok, let him have some fun before he goes back on duty. he didn't make it out of the driveway and crashed into the flower garden!! no major damage, just a minor scratch or two, but after that my bike had a sticker in plain sight - "yes it's fast, no you can't ride it" i'm not a fan of letting others ride my toys, for as long as i can remember. it never fails, something will go wrong. only my buddy who has a 686 rappy has ridden my shee.
  7. ditto.
  8. nbc paid $240 for an oil change, air filter, and fuel filter :baseball_wassat: there must be a lot of morons out there who have more $$ than brains to fork out that kind of cash for something so simple. i feel bad for people who have no vehicle knowledge whatsoever. a guy i used to work with expected to pay at least $600 every year to get his car inspected. new brakes, tires, or exhaust, blah blah blah... he is totally clueless when it comes to mechanical stuff. i know what's required for inspections so i go over everything myself before taking it to the garage so they can't pull any shit on me. i'd probably get fired from a jiffy lube kind of place because i couldn't rip people off the way they do.
  9. 80w bel-ray gearsaver with no complaints
  10. can-am is supposed to be doing demo rides at quadfest here in pa this weekend. i'm planning on heading up to the event tomorrow, so i'll have to check them out. if i get to see one in action, or even ride one, i'll let you guys know some details. oh yeah, and this mike penland dude is supposed to be there to promote the new ride. i'll see if i can talk to the guy at all.
  11. i've used the ebc severe duty pads on my shee for years. i like them better than stock and haven't had any reason to try anything else. they work good in any condition and wear good.
  12. i know where you are at with the whole MS thing guys. my mother has had it since i was about 1 1/2 years old. i'll be 32 next month. up until about 10 years ago, she could get around with a walker occasionally, but then lost use of her legs altogether. having a mother in a wheel chair is all my sisters and i have ever known, so our family life has been quite different than most others. she's had her ups and downs over the years, and we thought we were going to lose her a few times, man is that heartwrenching. everyday you see little things that make you wonder when that day really comes, will we be heartbroken that she's gone, or happy to know that she's no longer suffering and in a better place now. probably a little of both i'm sure. but she is a woman of strong faith in God, and has her family around her and supporting her constantly, and she's dealt with it pretty well over the years. i can remember her saying once that she would love to be around to see us all grow up, get married and have our own families, but she didn't think that she would make it to see that, and she'd be happy to at least see us all graduate high school. well, i'm the youngest and have been out of school for 14 years now :baseball_wassat: , and married with two kids. my sisters both have their own families and she now has 8 grandkids. so she's pretty happy with all of that, and i never deny my kids the opportunity to go visit with grammy, they all are making each other more happy than they realize at the time. and i have to give my dad A LOT of respect for standing by my mother and my sisters and i for all these years and taking care of us all. i just hope and pray that if i am ever in a situation like that, that i have the strength and dedication that my dad has given my mother and our family. i'm sure i will since my father set a good example of how to do so. well that's my story... but to all of you guys/gals here that are dealing with a similar situation, or has lost a loved one for one reason or another and are coping with it, you have my sympathy and prayers.
  13. some of those ut's are pretty quick. even my dad's 500 rubicon impressed me with it's low end power and speed. granted, it's topped out at around 55 but i was surprised at how quick it got there. i can only imagine what the new 800's are like.
  14. my first ride on a banshee was after i unloaded my spankin new '01 from my truck fresh from the stealership. i traded my '00 blaster for it and was extremely happy i did after 1 lap around the yard.
  15. those damn mice seem to like exhaust pipes. the previous owner of my dad's street bike had let is set for some time and couldn't get it running right again, so he sold it relatively cheap. we brought it home and checked a few things and of course, the exhaust pipes were about stuffed full with mouse nests. since they were rusted up also, he just bought new pipes for it and it runs like a champ.
  16. i have t6's and yep, they are a pain till they are broken in. i wore mine around the garage and stuff and every time i went riding and it took a while but they are getting pretty comfortable and i'm getting used to them. i moved my shifter up a few splines too but i still had a habit of not letting it back down all the way after shifting, so you can grab it for the next gear. once you figure out 'your' little problems with them, you'll be happy with the stiff extra protection and won't go riding without boots again.

    spider grips

well, they are on now, and i like them a lot better than my old ones so far. i think i'm going to get another set for my nephew for his blaster now too. thanks guys.
  18. a mini bungee cord will do the trick too.
  19. if it's torqued down and it still has play in it, that would be my guess also.
  20. i pm'd meat and he said there is nothing planned, but he may help out to put something together if enough people are interested.
  21. yeah, the wife got a kick out of that one, lol.
  22. RMATV gets most of my business. Moto-man Dennis Kirk , but RMATV is always cheaper, so only if RMATV is on back order and DK has it on hand.
  23. i've worn glasses since i was about 11, i'll be 32 next month. been wearing contacs too since i was about 15. i think glasses suck when riding. even if you have the otg goggles. it's not too bad just pokin around the yard, but not good on the trails and so on. mine always bounce around too much and it looks like the whole world is in one big earthquake. besides that, my eyes actually water more with my glasses on, from the way the wind whips around them when riding fast, then i can't hardly see anyway. especially if i take off up the road or across and open field on the shee, or on my cbr without my helmet visor down. i always wear my contacs when riding, and usually wear goggles. really dusty conditions can get to them when you don't wear goggles, and mud in the eyes is 10x worse with contacs in. but i'd ride with contacs and goggles on rather than glasses anyday. by the way, it would be suicide for me to ride without either :baseball_bat:
  24. congrats on the new ride, and welcome to the hq
  25. i've done it twice, and both times that was all i did to get them out. without the head of the bolt intact it loses all the pressure so unless the threads are screwed up, it should come out easily. even if you have to take a small punch or chisel and make enough of a slot for a small screwdriver to fit. otherwise an easy out is probably your best bet.
