  1. i've only had the noss head, and v3's. no other manufacturer's of heads, but i did run boyesen reeds with the stock cages for a while. i haven't had any issues with the noss head or the v3's, both seem to be very well made. i don't have any temp comparisons with the noss head, but installation was really simple, i've heard some others can be a hassle to deal with. i have no complaints with noss or vforce.
  2. i agree 100%. there's just way too many variables that will affect it, therefore every shee is different. if that's your only reason of doubt over getting a shee, don't let that stop you. there's lots of ways around it if shee is hard on gas. use your imagination.
  3. we had the same problem on my nephew's blaster with his full chassis skid plate. we just loosened all the bolts up, and shifted the skid around slightly to fit a little better, tightened it all back up and the rattle went away.
  4. you guys are out of line calling these people picky old pricks, bastards, assholes, whatever... you don't understand that people who don't own atv's or bikes, even street bikes, don't understand the culture of those of us who do. if they liked them, they would have their own. but they don't like them to that point, or some even despise them, especially our screaming 2 strokes. then again, the 4 strokes anymore are just as annoying sound wise. anyway, if you are riding on the street you are breaking the law, and also breaking up their peace and quiet, or piece of mind of relaxing in their own home. if you are going to live anywhere where your roads are "streets" then my opinion is you should stay off them, always. there's no "streets" for about 5-6 miles from my house in one direction, and about 20 miles or more any other other direction, and some of my neighbors still get pissed off if they see someone on the road on a quad or dirt bike. but they have every right to. hell, i've had bikes/quads all my life and my little neighbor and his buddies pissed me off riding up and down the road all the time. drag racing, wheelie contests, and so on. the noise is extremely irritating sometimes, especially when your baby wakes up screaming, you can't hear your tv, or whatever. you have to understand that not everybody is tolerant of things that other people may enjoy. i'm sure there are things that your neighbor's would do that would piss you off as well. it's the same deal, bud. respect the law and peoples privacy, or learn to deal with the consequences.
  5. it sounds like maybe a microfiche may help you. check out this site, and look up what you need. you'll see complete diagrams, parts listings, and prices. ronnies.com
  6. last time i pulled the cover off, my flywheel was pretty rusty looking, but i don't have a puller to get it off right to check things out. i guess i had better get one. we'll ride in pretty wet conditions often and thru some creeks so it's hard to keep it clean in there. i'll have to double check the floats too. thanks guys.
  7. with my set up, plug chops didn't show a thing until i got up around 360's. after the v3's, noss head, and rebuild, 370's looked better on the plug chop. shee's as smooth as could be on the top end too. i've had this problem before the rebuild though. it runs great bottom to top, idles great and so on when warm, only have this problem on cold starts.
  8. check out your local yammy shops. if i remember right, even the stealership was only about $40 / cylinder to bore, and about $10/ cyl. for honing.
  9. 32:1 is pretty safe. mine literally had oil dripping out the silencers at 24:1 when stock. switched to 32:1 about 5 years ago - yamalube 2r by the way. you'd better do a plug chop anytime you make any changes to air flow or any major mods to be on the safe side, regardless of your premix.
  10. looks good bud! where did you get that seat cover? i've been looking for one like that for a long time. blue and white though.
  11. yeah bud, just drill out the rivets and remove them completely. for the fronts, i pulled off the labels and the extra plastic backing, but my fenders were pretty scratched up underneath from the edges of the backing and it looked worse. i riveted the backing on again and filled it with stickers instead of the labels. here's some pic's.
  12. when i fire up my shee for the first time for the day, if i let it sit and idle to warm up, it will foul plugs. if i jump on her and take off but baby it till it's warmed up, it will foul plugs. will just adjusting the air screws fix this?? i'd like to be able to start it and let it sit and idle to warm up. current set up: pc pipes - pd pro flow(foam)no lid - v3's - wiseco pistons on recent rebuild - noss head 20cc domes - 370 mains - needle 3rd clip - stock pilots - air screws 1.5 out - elevation 1200 ft.
  13. yeah, i think you'll have to go with a new stock shaft (about $45) i don't remember if you can buy the post seperate from the kicker or if you have to get it as an assembly, about $75. but i'd go that route, then pick good aftermarket kicker before another stock one considering the prices.
  14. sounds like a sticking float. tap the carb bowl with a screwdriver handle or something and see if it quits. if not, pull the carb bowl off and clean it again if needed. carefully reassemble it. i usually tip the carb a little a few times before putting back on the quad and listen for the floats to drop. that's most likely all it is. good luck.
  15. my first quad was a '00 blaster. i had a few bikes b4 that, but it had been years since i had ridden off road much, i was more into sport bikes for a while. my buddy had a blaster, and another had a 250 bear tracker, so it was perfect to ride with them, and i didn't want to spend big bucks yet. it was great at first, but soon wasn't fast enough, and barely carried me up the hillclimbs i wanted to hit. i rode it for 1 year and had to step up, of course to the shee. bought a new '01 and was happy as could be. almost 6 years and a few mods later, i'm still content with it. i would like to have a 700 grizz for joy riding with the wife or kids though...
  16. congrat's guys!
  17. welcome to the site bud  but, you are on a banshee site so of course you will be told to get the banshee. but honestly, for the options you gave, i'd get the shee hands down. a banshee is so easily tuned to whatever your riding style is because there are tons of options for mods and stuff. you can make it into just about any kind of ride that you want it to be, and be smokin the competition at the same time. i'd suggest trying out the other rides you listed and riding a good banshee, and see what you think. i'll bet you'll pick the shee in a heartbeat. and if you get the shee, this is the place for any questions or issues. good luck.
  18. the press conference just ended and Coach Cowher has officially resigned. hell, they're not even thru the play-offs yet and i'm thinking about what's going to happen next year for the steelers. i'm sure many other die hard steelers fans are too. guess we'll just have to wait it out. should be interesting though. in the mean time, it's all about the Eagles...
  19. that is a little girl in women's clothing...you sick bastards :yelrotflmao: but in a few years
  20. imler, pa (20 miles S of Altoona) - mostly ride trails around home, from my back yard to wherever - probably no places anyone's ever heard of, lol.
  21. holy shit rippen!! i'd have to sell my home that sit's above my basement to finish my basement like those pic's. :yelrotflmao:
  22. not a thing for the shee... just a few more tools for the garage (about $100 worth) i'm happy with that. oh yeah, and a cookie jar for my wife and i from my sister, lol. man, some of you guys are rediculously spoiled
  23. i've never seen any wind mills like that, but i've seen tons of blade parts shipped out before. we made them at my work where we make pultruded fiberglass reinforced composites. ever seen the fiberglass step ladders, shovel handles, structural shapes, yeah, that kind of stuff. (creativepultrusions.com) anyway, we made tons of blades for a while, mostly going across the pond. pretty neat stuff though. amazing how big they actually are.
  24. been a steelers fan all of my life - 32 yrs. eagles are next in line, then the seahawks... i don't follow college ball anymore, but it used to be penn state. yep, for the most part i'm a 'hometown' fan. except for seattle they are all within 2-4 hrs drive for me.
  25. i have a guy that works for me that constantly talks about breeding cattle, as a side job. his nick name is "sac of guts" :yelrotflmao: i'll bet he has one of those on his big ole belly. :yelrotflmao:
