  1. yeah im plenty happy with my motor if i was dragging id try to squeeze every ounce of power out of her..but for mx jims motor with the 34's and deltas revs real quik and clean, comes on from idle, my top end is collecting dust, unless im dragging a pal, i dont see the very top of her, and im geared so tall, my bike just pulls like a son of a bitch, then i shift, all i need is plenty of hp to call on in tight situations on the track you can only go so fast and hang on, what i like most about my passion engine is i can hit a slow corner with a thumper and pull away from his ass, down a straight and gain some time, we are all looking for differnt things from our bikes, if i was just purely out for speed id mount a f-22 jet engine in my bike.......the best compliment ive had on my build came from Steve Hengeveld the #1 factory honda, 4 time baja 1000 winner, he rides my shee and says "holy shit that bike has so much useable power, its just right where you need it"...... Ty davis, who held the open desert class for years (until Steve took his title) rides my bike and says, "goddamm your bike pulls harder than my factory KX 500"....these guys live, ride and race where i live, when a Pro factory rider is impressed with your bike, you know your on to something......Jims motors are fast as fuuck, wicked low end pull, clean top end, however you carb it up, unless its starving, its gonna fly.......well jimbee, lets do the calander, id love one for the house and office....
  2. yeah they have idle adjust's you turn the choke pull counter clockwise, that wont make jims motor idle, i had to use my throttle adjust to slightly pull the slides up, i tried using the carb adjust......if jim reads this he knows why.....he told me it wouldnt want to idle from day one....
  3. oh hey rick, (sorry for so many posts guys, but im as excited as got1 is, thats a fun motor to ride).....before you install your throttle you might want to get all the play out of the cable at your carbs, because your adjust at your throttle, is now your idle adjust, you'll be lucky if your idles on the carbs at the choke pulls work..i leave mine full clockwise(off) its nice to have a idle for warm up and putting around.......i have a twist and it has zero play in it so it will idle........ it took a while getting used to and is not for the timid over whoops, i kinda got a hair trigger you might say...........but its right at my thumb so i can back it in and then just keep tapping the gas to keep it running, for racing.....
  4. use your stock carbs Will.......take a 5/8's drill bit to your mains, youll get enough fuel
  5. its about time jim finished your motor Rick(hehehehe)....go ride that rocket....post what you think.....finnally another guy on the HQ that knows just what im talking about when i say jims motors haul ass..........whats that make now jim.....mmmm, me, rick, proquad,d-34?..... 8 more and we can make a calender "The Shee's of Passion"....i got dibbs on september, thats my b-day
  6. you mean one of these?........
  7. HEY!!! thats my motor goddamit.....
  8. mmmmm 50 hp maybe 55 if you put the stock carbs back on.....
  9. im guessing 80hp
  10. i have some trinity stuff..there advertising is mostly fluff if you ask me
  11. i did the same thing a while back, i had a hell of a time getting it to show up next to the pricks ad.......but i remember a few guys emailed me and said thanks for the tip and for turning them on to such a cool site......some people just got balls thats for sure.....too bad theres not some sort of copywrite infringement law he could get busted under....if it was music or film he'd have some major players up his ass...stealing 25cents from a million people is better than jacking 1 guy for 250 grand, and safer....but the outcome is the same
  12. thats kinda how i was seeing it ......thankyou dunedemon...... we are not all spending large dollars on our bikes cause we are morons.....i mean im happy he was able to "rig" something that would meet his needs..but big deal...his statements "scream" im broke, but do have a welding rig, thereore "i am"..........whacking up some parts from another bike doesnt do much for me..lets say i whacked some banshee stock arms to fit a blaster..id still have some bullshit strapped to a blaster....its just that simple... why doesnt he buy some janssen aarms and whack them to his specs..answer cause it would cost him 700 bucks to do it......do you know how much speed you can buy for 700 bucks? ......... enough to polish every nut and bolt on a banshee thats for sure
  13. thats a fair request....im 43 been ridin since 1965....mom's dead
  14. i think your right on check you need sag for hook, a stiff bike spins in the dirt
  15. man thats i hard choice both of those arms are killer, but since gary at quicksand has the best service you'll find, hed get my money, but damm janssen makes a gullwing arm thats the shit.....i told eric at elka(and i went straight to them i didnt want a middle man screwing up my order) that i race mx, open desert and like to long jump, but the desert and jumping was my play time, so the track was my main concern and he understood the california desert tracks are very brutal, eric said i would loose some comfort for control over high speed off camber terrain, but would include a few different progresive spring gages and rates of both my primary and secondary spring stages.... in a nutshell i have softer and stiffer upper and lower springs for my doubles, that i can interchange as needed for track or terrain conditions, i had to have the SSD's (self sagging design) for my lowered ride height and to favor the rebound when valving.....i think for all around riding, i would give them your correct weight, most spring gages break at 40 pound incriments.....but maybe try to view it as how fast your riding style is, high speed open riding, requires a different set up then winding trail riding, at high speeds you want a shock that wont throw you off the bike, and for trails you want some plushness and sag for climbing and navigateing over weird terrains.....i figured for almost a grand for just fronts and another 800 for the rear a little cash for extra springs would be a good investment.....the elkas interchange easy.....the works shocks are a pain in the ass to change springs on, if you ride a bit of everthing at high speed tell them that, if you like to putt comfortably and climb alot get a little softer setup, my bike i can feel the little bumps more than the other guy, but as the bumps get bigger and deeper they feel like little bumps to me and the guy with the softer setup feels like he's hitting brick walls and has to back off the juice, so its a choice only you can make for your needs......i hope i helped you decied what you need......let us know what you end up with...
  16. :o Sorry if you got your feelings hurt there Sally...but it looks like you started it. He was simply stating his opinion. The very value of this forum is the critical analysis that is achieved by differing opinions. You my friend, kind of crossed the ethical line of good forumship in defense of yours. Without full analysis, some boob out there would have paid too much for some used 450 arms and then paid someone too much to fit them...when they would have been better off getting aftermarket. If I had some free 450 arms though, I'd fuckin fit em! Lets see those pics! yeah what he said......
  17. im going to stick to this theory......tig,mig,gas,crazyglue, whats the diff.....
  18. with jims motor you could run a 17, still loop it in third and do a 100mph as fast as you can stretch the long gears out, the worlds your oyster with his engine....
  19. well fuuck dude start a aftermarket parts house you can call it "Stock Parts Butchered for Banshee's".....all i know is i wanted great shocks so i purchased them i never thought to turn my stockers into valved doubles, and the same with aarms, if i would have saw your post ten years ago i would have just welded some tubes on my stockers to extend them, wouldnt have cost me shit....well maybe the bindle of speed you musta wiffed thinking of such a hairbrained scheme.....and im not a dick cause i spent the cash to buy decent shit instead of turning crap into garbage with a torch......
  20. ive yet to see anyone in the motocross circuit run the acclaimed butchered 450 aarms....its a mickey mouse plan at best....a triple rate shock at those dimensions are a joke also(must be a works triple, since the real shock makers wont produce one in such a short body)..you could of hacked your stock banshee arms into the same mess.....you my friend have never had decent parts on your bansh....or you wouldnt be spouting such rubbish......oh and go ahead and tell me im a asshole but bottom line i have the best shit money can buy on my bike and your running homemade crap on yours....so neener neener......
  21. sure does, and whats the point?..who died and made stock yzf-450 a-arms the shit..........
  22. that sounds like a good deal, you will really dig those shocks.......i think as far as the extra strength arms, think about having unbendable arms, there attached to a frame that will bend instead, arms are cheaper than a frame......i have a buddy with real nice chrome lsr's and a bent frame, who bags on the light jd performance arms i put on my mx bike, but my frames pristine and his is bent to shit up front....
  23. ive noticed the taller front pulls harder than the smaller back.......but thats just my opinion
  24. 30 bucks plus whatever shipping is and you can have my stock 26's tors removed and a twist throttle cable...off an 02
  25. this is product review this is excactly why you dont have 8 of these damm topics open on your screen at once, and try to work at the same time
