heres my dilly works slick...I too have melted the harness on the pipes..except only my lights bit it, no problems with engine heat hurting anything. I taped some carpet on the bottom to dampen vibration and movement againts the tank..

yes there are fuel injection kits, but i dont belive it would help emissions because there would still be the problem of unburnt charge leaving the open exaust port...the only way would be DFI, which isnt possible...
