  1. Some do. I worked that way for about a year, and I think that there are just a few people here still doing this. I think that this is a grey area in the current legislation that the new bill is supposed to clear up.
  2. Back to the topic: Taking away overtime pay. I looked into this a little and it seems that this will only apply to salaried employees that are currently paid overtime. It is my understanding that this will not apply to employees that are paid by the hour. Am I understanding this correct? If so, how many people will this really affect? I know very, very few people that are in this situation.
  3. Will Toomey T-5 silencers fit with SST pipes? If not, then I need to know what the pipes that feed into the silencers are made of. Because if they are steel, then I can make them fit. Thanks
  4. I just called PSI and they don't make them anymore. Thanks for your replies, but I guess I won't be ordering a set. I have tried to order them twice now, I guess they don't want my money. This must be why so few people use them. That's too bad, they looked great on the dyno chart and had excellent reviews.
  5. WTF!? I watch the news almost everyday, and this is the first that I have heard about this. This is stupid. How in the hell is taking money away from people supposed to stimulate the economy?
  6. I agree with Boonman, they work in rough terrain. But they are a pain in the ass to get set up initially. They say that the amp link is a bolt-on, but you'll have to trim the left plastic engine cover and work at getting the rollers properly lined up with the chain. Plus they make a lot of noise! Boonman, what is the proper way to adjust the chain?
  7. Definately, especially if your 'lil lady' rides. My wife gets tired of being the only female when we go riding.
  8. So are they more of a top end pipe? Most things that I read make me believe that they are more of an all-around pipe with decent low and mid-range pull. Which FMF pipes did you have before? Have you guys had any problems with the ceramic coating? How does it clean up? I put a set of ceramic coated headers on a '69 Cougar and when the transmission leaked on them, it caused the coating to flake off. It didn't really matter that much, because you couldn't see it unless you were under the car, but it would be very obvious on the banshee pipes.
  9. I read the good review in Dirtwheels and actually called them to order a set about a year ago. But they were all out and weren't going to have any more for a few months. I decided not to let them hold my money for a few months and never got around to calling them back. I was wanting to hear how they actually perform in the real world. You can never take the manufacturer's word, they all say that theirs is the best and the Magazines aren't always trustable either. I swear that some magazine editors make more money from endorsements than their salary as an editor.
  10. That's good to hear. That's why I wanted to talk to them. I was going to call if you didn't talk to them. I don't ride drunk, but I do like to have a few in the evening before a night ride and it is the only place in Indiana that you can ride at night. They don't seem to enforce the rules that they have, so I was surprised to hear that they were going to implement new rules. Have fun, and tear the place up this weekend. Matt
  11. bignasty1, when you go this weekend you should ask the people that run the place if they are planning on changing the rules. When a couple friends checked in last weekend they were told that camping, night riding, and alcohol were soon to be banned. I meant to talk to the people when I left, be we were too busy trying to get everybody up the hill through all of the mud.
  12. Does anybody run PSI pipes? Here is a link to their website: http://test.psiperformance.com/www/psiperf...re/spectra1_60/ They seem to specialize in snowmobiles, but I was wondering how their Banshee pipes are.
  13. Yep, $100 plus shipping. I suggest doing this whenever you have about 2-3 weeks that you don't plan to ride. I turn these around as fast as I can, but since it takes about 6+ full hours, it usually takes me 3-5 days to fit it into my schedule. Plus another 3-5 days shipping each way. I don't think that you need the new A-arms before you shorten the swingarm. I still run the stock arms, and probably will for another year. I'd suggest going the full 2". I cut mine down 1.5" and a friend's 1", and we both wish we had gone -2". We are all afraid that it will make it ride around on the back tires all of the time. But this just isn't the case. A stock 300EX or piped Z400 are way more wheelly prone than a banshee with a shortened swingarm. But keep in mind that I have never had paddle tires on my Banshee and I have never been to the dunes, so I cannot provide any advise for that type of riding.
  14. I hope it dries out for you. We were there last weekend and it was a complete mudfest. It was still a lot of fun, but I think our fenders now have a permanent droop to them from the weight of the mud.
  15. Wasn't the original post about cylinder heads?
  16. You'll get better jetting advice on here, than you would by calling FMF. This isn't really posted in the right spot, but I'm sure one of the experts will see this and respond. IMHO the stock pilot jets (25) might be a little small and would make it hard to start, but they shouldn't keep it from starting. The 320 mains are probably close, but they won't really affect how it starts. I would check and make sure that you're TORS isn't acting up. Mine went out in less than a year. The quick way to eliminate this possibility is to unplug the three wire connector that goes to the control box. The control box is mounted under the gas tank on the left side of the frame. Of course, there are always the usually reasons why it won't start: Gas tank empty, petcock turned off, choke tube missing, carb slides in backwards, rag in intake...... One of these is usually why mine won't start.
  17. I have never lengthened one myself. But, I found this on the web one day: http://www.westcoastatv.com/Technical/Swin...swingarmext.htm
  18. I know quite a few guys that are talking about going on Friday, but I'm not sure if I can get all of the family visiting done by then. I may just end up at the Badlands on Saturday. Besides, I'll be at Haspin tomorrow and Sunday.
  19. Not to say that they are bad, but I personally do not like the sound or look of the FMF silencers. So, what other ones will fit? Will Toomey's fit on the SSTs? I've seen them on FMF Fattys but FMF sells different silencers for the SST and Fattys.
  20. Sound like a good price to me. I was just checking out the new Rocky Mountain catalog and noticed that the SST are $105 more than the Fattys. $387 plus s/h.
  21. I can't access the old post that I put together showing how to do this. So I assume no one else can either. I can't post pictures anymore, or I would just repost it. But I still have all of the pictures and the write-up, so send me a PM with your email address and I'll send them to you. Hopefully all of the information in the old forum will be available soon. Because, there is a lot of information about this that other people posted as well.
  22. Whoops, I guess I didn't read you're question carefully. Yea, it will work, but you'll still need to use a couple of washers as spacers.
  23. If you move the coolant bottle to the front, it is important to keep the coolant bottle overflow tube routed up the frame near the upper steering stem mount and then back down. If you simply route the overflow tube straight down to the ground, it will empty your coolant bottle in a single ride. By having the overflow tube go up first, and then down, it will allow the coolant that gets splashed into the tube to drain back into the tank, Instead of directly onto the ground. If you follow the directions on the Banshee Zone website, then you won't have this problem. I just don't always follow directions well. Here is the link to the directions: http://kuoi.asui.uidaho.edu/~john/tips.html
  24. Check that all of the wiring connectors are dry under the rear plastic. Water can get in the connectors and cause a problem like you are describing.
