  1. Welcome to the HQ! You didn't say what terrain you'll be riding on?
  2. Watch out for rocks on the pavement...
  3. You wouldn't want to increase your rear sprocket size if you can help it, I can think of a few reasons: Ground clearance comes at a premium on Banshee's especially for trail riding, increasing the diameter of the rear sprocket will reduce the ground clearance. If anything, try to reduce the diameter of the rear sprocket for trail riding. Rear sprockets are way more expensive than fronts so why go that route? It's easier for me to change the front sprocket than changing the rear. Like the others said, get a few $7 front sprockets and experiment. See how you like it, if you don't, then no big financial loss...
  4. Yamaha Fork Damper Rod Holder - 30mm (Part No. YM-01327) Or you can use a 30mm Allan Key, or make your own tool if you have access to welding equipment, take a Metric Bolt, that is 30mm across flats (can't remember the thread size). Chop the head of the bolt of and weld a smaller nut to the centre of the hex piece.
  5. Just about sums it up...
  6. Try 320 - 340, depending on elevation and ambient temperature. Also check for any airleaks around the carbs, that includes rubber boots/ hose clips/ cross over tube/balance tube or boostbottle/ carb tops, reed cage gasket etc.
  7. Not if you do it correctly, bend open the locking tabs on the 2 bolts, unscrew them and pull the caliper off the disc. NO need to Remove the hose. Once you have the caliper off the disc it will be obvious how to remove the pads. Be sure not to mess up the pad spring and DO lightly grease the pins. To fit the new pads, you'll have to force the caliper piston back into the caliper to make room for the new pads. It's pretty simple really. Make sure the parking brake isn't activated.
  8. & You didn't say what mods you had to start with but I'd be looking at 290main jets minimum to prevent it frombeing lean at full throttle. In fact I would even start my bike until I've made sure about the jetting. Keep on posting as you go along, the guys here will help you out!
  9. Sounds a tad lean to me, go up a couple of sizes on the mains depending on you elevation and ambient temperature.
  10. Dude you really need to get SOME clue about what you're quoting. Here you go... Matthew 7:6 "Do not give what is holy to dogs, neither throw YOUR pearls before swine, that they may never trample them under their feet and turn around and rip YOU open." Well said Holyman I'd also like to chime in here, stop quoting scripture man. You post a pic of beastiality and then quote Psalm 46 beneath it???
  11. I can't believe what I'm reading here...
  12. Smokin reply there Meat! That sounds interesting, maybe I should back mine off a bit... splpete, apologies for hitting on your post without offering any advice.
  13. Check for spark, if good, check for fuel starvation, like blocked petcock screen or vent on the gas cap. If the spark is poor, best you check out BenBB's electrical FAQ. Once it's sorted, please post back, so we can all learn...
  14. Great work as usual Ben! It's a bit long to just read on the comp, so I'll print it out at work to have a good squizz at it. You da man!
  15. Not too bad, nice to load your own avatars, Dig the ford-screwing-honda avatar Evil
  16. Looks like a nicely prepped track. Good pics. Edit: No Grant Langston??? South Africa man!
  17. I've never had such a boring week at work... Good to be back! Edit: I think the guys at BT will heave a big sigh of relief...
  18. Me too... I've just recently fitted a set of 22inch 6ply Kenda Klaws, prior to that I had Razr's and prior to that Shredders. So far I'm really impressed with the Klaws, they hook up well, but sliding is still easily controlled. Haven't had a chance to test the Holeshots, they are difficult to get around these parts. Of the three tyres above, I'd choose the Kenda Klaws.
  19. Now that's what I'm talking about! I've managed to convince my friends, if only my wife would understand...
  20. That is the correct way, the picture that Fixitrod showed shows you exactly where to check. I do my WOT test the same way as you and I always get an indication at the bottom of the insulator, even after only one run.
  21. Well done Meat! Just in time too... As for cutting the connectors, If it were me, I would just leave "good enough" alone... If you cut them one by one like you said and test every time you should be ok.
  22. Not for a long time, I'm still here in South Korea working on a shipbuilding project. Remember the big 2-stroke engine I showed u guys a while ago. Any way you'll be seeing a lot more of me on the HQ now, my baby is in storage and I come to the BHQ to get my fix...
  23. hodna6449, Welcome to BHQ, lots of good info and some real experts here. We need to know a bit about your bike before we can make any educated guesses. What is the current jetting? What exhausts are you running? Any airbox mods, do you still have the lid and the snorkle? What airfilter do you have? Any other mods like reeds, carbs or anything you think might help.
  24. Good luck guys!! Ben, don't forget the obligatory photo's and race report...
  25. Did a few searches, maybe thiswill help?
