  1. Most of your local Motorcycle/atv shops should have the puller (since it is univeral) for about $10. As stated, a Dremel Tool works best and takes about 30 mins to grind down. I marked every thing I planned to grind out with a black sharpie pen before I started.
  2. I am pretty sure that was me on BT who stated that. Here is the pic of my stator after I hogged out the holes.
  3. I have been blinging out my shee with MaxBillet Products and the prices are great. http://www.maxbillet.net
  4. Not necessarily. I have had 20x10x10 (8 paddles) and my 22x11x8's and are narrower, but float much better. The 22"s will keep you moving forward on nasty hills whereas 20"s would leave you siting high-n-dry on your carrier (high centered). Another reason I really like them is they they are much smoother ride in the rough and rutty sand. Oh and because they are taller, you will most likely have to change your gearing (number of teeth on your sprockets). I have been happy with 13/43.
  5. I would recommend the 22x11x8 Extreme in a 9 paddle.
  6. I am not sure on LRD... I know he was working out of Watercraft Connection for several years (mid 90's) before he moving his shop to Vancouver.
  7. Yep. In fact in the July, 1991 issue of Dirt Wheels, Chad is on the cover with JD bikes. We are trying to locate a decent issue of it to get the article and pics on his website.
  8. Chad will be doing a full port, cut head, weld crank and other odds-n-ends (shift star mod, etc). Pretty much what he considers the "Cruiser Package" on his site. http://www.holeshotmoto.com
  9. A free mod (if you have a Dremel Tool) is to modify your stock stator plate (+4 advance) to gain about 2-3 hp.
  10. If you are saying your kickstarter won't swing out, remove it, take it apart and clean out the rust, dirt and crud. Relube with silicone lube or graphite lube and reassemble.
  11. When I bought my banshee (used) about 4 years ago, the previous owner had put a boost bottle on it. The day I bought the shee, I had it dyno'ed to dial in the jetting and check HP numbers. We ran two passes with the boost bottle and then ran two passes with a stock cross over tube. The end result was that the stock cross over tube produced about 1.8 hp over the boost bottle. So now my boost bottle is in the bushes somewhere.
  12. If you are building a 404 and ride in the dunes, I can't see why a shortened swing arm is going to benefit. My opinion is to go with the +4. Here's some pics of mine when I lengthed it... You can see I drilled it out for plug welds and reinforced the inside: http://www.sandlakeduners.com/images/4over.jpg All done and ready for install: http://www.sandlakeduners.com/images/4over2.jpg
  13. I am having my stock head cut to .065...but the squish will be changed as well as it will be "o-ringed". It should be cool!
  14. I agree that a higher octane can produce less power on a stock motor. But I have also heard that because of the extra cooling properties of Race Gas, the motor runs cooler therefore the motor will run "more crisp". Ever notice that your motor runs better on cool days and on hot days it seems a tad doggy? So if your curious to see what Race Gas does for your quad, buy a couple of gallons of it and see if you like it or hate it.
  15. JT, I know Mark from Maxbillet has been looking for more distributors. You might get ahold of him. http://www.maxbillet.net
  16. On a banshee, you want to advance it to make more power. This is a pic of how I hogged out my stock stator plate to get about +4 to +5 timing advance.
  17. I am anxious to get back down there. I took my banshee into Holeshot Racing lastnight to let Chad do his magic to my motor, so hopefully soon after the new year I will be able to tear up the tree shots again.
  18. You might check out Razorback Designs...they do some pretty trick seats. http://razorbackdesigns.com
  19. I would be thinking about other things on my birthday other than "Anna Anna Anna Nicole...shes shes so outrageous". What is wrong with you!!!
