what size chain for a +2 swingarm
floyd398 replied to banshee223's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I think a 120 link would be a good place to start, you can always cut what you don't need -
I like the ford 7.3 diesels in the f250. don't ask me why but they are slow as shit in the 350's . I just did a water pump the other day on an f350 7.3 liter and took it for a ride and it was a bow wow. Couldn't get out of its own way. now my pop's got a 2000 f250 7.3 with the stage 3 hypertech program in it and that things f*ckin rips. It spins the back tires when he's towing his 30 foot camping trailer from a red light if you punch on the pedal. I mean the gas mileage after putting the program in went from around 13-15 to about 18-20 around town. and it doesn't matter what your towing. the mpg stays virtually the same. I wish they made a V6 from the ford 7.3's to put in an f150. I'd be all over that 5.4 liter diesel. But as far as the ford triton engines. I don't care for em at all. I've seen the aftermath of too many spark plugs getting blown out of the heads because of poor engineering. as far as petrol engines, i'd go for Dodge or GM

I run Lucas semi-synth 32:1 in my shee. I've run it for years with no problems in my dirtbikes, quads and goped. It's also fairly inexpensive. In my sleds I always run amsoil..they like the full synth better

what does everybody do for a living?
floyd398 replied to bansheeman1974's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I'm an Auto Mechanic with my family business..Father,brother, and I. We do it all. engines too...most shops don't like doing engines anymore around here so we do quite a few. also dirtbikes and other crap when people need their shit fixed. -
I love the look of the f7's, I have an 02 polaris xc 800. it has a pretty nice ride too. It's amazing how far they've come with sleds in the last 10-20 years. back then I said to myself..what will they do next. and man it just keeps getting better.. NICE RIDE

If I had to buy a 4 stroke it would be the quadracer 450. I think they look pretty bad I like how suzuki used some of the old quadracer style like the wide back to the seat. can't wait to see one up close. Now kawasaki needs to come out with their own 450..not a suzuki like the z400/kfx400 deal, but a genuine tecate 4 - 450cc. that shit would be nice.

I like that...good one

So I was just out riding today with like 10 people. beautiful weather...like 55 or something. I was with a couple friends and also some people I had never ridden with . One guy had the new limited yellow and black 450, about 6 months old. looked really nice. I was itchin to race him all day cuz I've never ridden with any 450's yet. so later on we we came to this spot where it's about 1-2 miles of straight away. he just happened to pull up to me and I knew he wanted to race. so we took off. He actually pulled ahead for about 2 seconds in around 2 gear. from there on in we were neck and neck. I actually had about a front wheel's distance on him but once I hit 5th.. see ya...I started to walk away from him. and by 6th gear I looked back and he was far back . my dust must have bothered him . Yeah it was a stock 450 but I didn't care. anyway just though I would share that. Good day for riding Sorry.. posted in the wrong place

Does anyone lose any topend after going +4 or more on the timing. I've heard that the most noticable gains are low to mid with the timing advancement? I'm asking because I was gonna get the ricky stator plate but don't wanna lose anything on top.

just installed my proflow adapter and k&n with outerwear, but I still hate the stock airbox lid. Is there a better lid besides the K&n lid that I can use for wet conditions? thanks

if you do alot of trail riding you might want to go with the 916's for better low end than the t-5's, plus they sound awesome and are a little cheaper. the T-5's are a great all around pipe and might have a slightly better top end than the 916's but both are good choices.

I just found this site the other day. they have some powder coating prices but you'd have to call for a frame estimate by what I read. Some pretty damn fast blaster drag racing vids here too. HERE: http://www.cpcustoms.com/

I have the dmc aliens and I love em. great finish and supposedly comparable to t5's but with better low end. check this guy's video out. he's got DMC aliens on his mx banshee. HERE: http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=52101

sorry if this is a repost but I couldn't find a thread on this. my brother just got a +4 swingarm for his blaster and we were wondering if the banshee Rear shock will bolt right up to the blaster with a stock mount. thanks.

I was looking on rocky mountain atv and they have some decent prices on tire and wheel packages. I ride mostly fast trails, hard pack but sometimes muddy shit too. What tire should i go for ? what are the +'s and -'s of each tire. anything has to be better than stock though.. ...also what's the difference between the knarly XC and MX. mx must be a smaller profile? and rocky mountain doesn't say if these are 4 or 6 ply tires. anyone know? thanks.

Just got my new pipes so I figured I would do a Top Speed run before I put em on. 73.5 MPH on my garmin etrex legend; flat road, 900 ft elevation, 45 degrees out BONE STOCK..

thanks alot man.. right after I got your reply I got a call from DMC and they were saying the same thing you said about the coolant hoses . can't wait to put em on now...

Just got my Dmc's and after looking at the right side pipe these is a dent in the expansion chamber...directly above the exhaust port(as it sits on the shee). It is on the inner side of the pipe directly opposite the DMC logo and 2-3 inches going away from the stinger side. NOW...the people at Motoman and the DMC factory in CALI. said that the dent belongs there. I say bullshit !! any suggestions. or does anyone have this dent? they claim it is there for clearance puposes but I would expect one side to be the same as the other right

thanks for the quick reply. one more thing I was reading another post and someone mentioned elka dune shocks and mx shocks. are these the same thing as the recreational shocks?
-
I 'm getting some Front shocks pretty soon and was wondering if anyone has used these before. Are they better than works. ok dumb question..but honestly, how are they? Do they come with rezzies or not? I don't do a whole bunch of jumping so that why I'm asking about these. Also How about TCS shocks? I've heard the valving is better than their competitors. As far as price can you get a decent setup for about $400 from either company. One more thing.... I plan on getting an extended +2+1 A-arm setup in the future. would either of these shocks work with that. Thanks.

How was YOUR christmas?
floyd398 replied to Rookie_of_the_year's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Christmas was pretty good . My wife got me a trail tech speedo and the handlebar clamp for it(pretty cool) and a gift certificate to rocky mountain atv. Other than that I got some other goodies, and dinner was great. good to just relax eat and drink a little -
With a torque wrench and socket you're right.... but with a torque wrench and a crows-foot socket which can be used for brake lines too, it was no problem besides taking the crows-foot off and on because it's shaped like a brake line wrench. also I had to take the right side cover off to put the oil injection block-off in so it made it easier to get that one nut on the front right side tightened.well, already ordered some new reeds and extras. just need to get some new tranny fluid and a new headlight cause the jerk of kid who stole it broke the headlight too...among other things... Just one question how the hell do you brake the headlight.?anyways I Can't wait to give it to my bro for christmas.
