I've had mine with standard plating for over a year now and even with wet conditions I just wipe them down and they still look great. chrome polishing them doesn't hurt either

I'd have to say that the Krylon works well. My brother did all the plastics on his wheeler. I think it came out really nice. He did spend some time sanding with a fine grit but the spots that he took shortcuts on you can tell. If you want the shine to last I would recommend a clear coat afterwards but all said and done the only time any paint has come off is when he rolled it at the track. Just take your time if want good results and it'll be worth it.

I use Meguiars step 1 cleaner wax. It works pretty well for getting most scratches out of my plastics

I've been on the HQ on my PSP but yeah it is a little slow..you can always switch to low-fi graphics version on the bottom of the page.. speeds thing up considerably

My wife got me a set of Thor Quadrant boots with some mx socks and a new set of thor core gloves. I thought they seemed like great boots for the money. Oh yea and I got the new ATV offroad fury 4.

Yeah I have the T-Maxx too actually my brother and father do too. But a buddy of mine just bought the jato with the 3.3 motor..Holy shit..this things screams. 0-60 in 4.5 seconds,it comes with a traxxas aftermarket pipe already installed.. this thing has a wheely bar cause it pulls wheelies at 40mph or in second gear. I would highly recommend one if you like the speed but you will go through back tires really quick. Or yet another thing you could do is put a 3.3 motor on the t-maxx..it's a direct bolt on...but while you're putting the motor in I would recommend putting in some new clutches and taller gearing. the biggest gear available is a 22 drive gear I think. stock is 20. Also I have heard of superchargers for these things but haven't seen any. have fun

take off the boost bottle...that'll give you more boost. don't believe the hype you hear about them. not to bum ya out man but they're really not worth the money. just my .02

When I bought mine brand new, after breaking the motor in I ran 73.5 MPH Bone Stock on a flat road verified by my garmin GPS. If I had more road I probably could've gotten maybe 1 more MPH but that would have been it. Add a set of pipes and up your front sprocket 1 more tooth to a 15 and you could see another 7-10 MPH easy.

STEELERS QB HURT RIDING A BIKE
floyd398 replied to 2strokesmoke's topic in General Banshee Discussion
you gotta love how in the interview months ago they asked him why he didn't where a helmet and he said..well it's now a law, if it was a law then I would definitely wear one..he said he feels more free without a helmet on..I mean cmon does a little skullcap really take away from that free feeling. I was hit by a lady while I was going 23mph on my yamaha streetbike a little over a year ago and had to sit in a wheel chair for over 3 months with an external fixator on my wrist and titatium permanently in my pelvis but my helmet which had a couple good scratches I believe saved me from facial damage and possible brain injury. Statistically most accidents happen under 25 mph and it doesn't take much to do damage so wear you helmets guys and gals..damn I feel like a preacher now. -
Good advice from banshee370. actually, it's possible to see if the regulator is leaking by taking of the throttle body on top of the plennum, or you might be able to see right through the throttle plate but I would take it off to make sure. take a small flashlight and look inside the plennum on the right side of the engine or passenger side. That's the side the regulator is on. look for any puddles of fuel in the little valleys of the lower intake manifold. For a fuel pressure test make sure you are getting anywhere from 55psi to 65psi...Any spec book will say 50 psi is good enough but trust me, those 5.7's like to run at 60 psi. Also, if you are bleeding down, pressure wise after doing a fuel pressure test ( any more than 5-7psi is not good). Another typical problem is that the injectors which are actually plastic tubes inside the intake plennum have been known to crack which I have seen on a couple occasions. Yet another very typical problem that was mentioned before is the intake man. gasket problem. This problem is because of the fact that Dexcool antifreeze which is GM's extended life red antifreeze is shit...It is corrosive and also has been proven to eat away at the gasket. I've done many of those intake gaskets. To check, spray some carb cleaner around the intake manifold and see if that changes the idle or running characterisics at all. Also good advice was given about the Catalytic convertor from banshee370. Check a spark plug, if they need replacement then it very possible you need a tune up and that said, the possibility of a clogged Cat. exists. It doesn't take long to do so with a prevalent misfire going on. to check, just unbolt the front of the cat from the rest of your exhaust manifolds and down pipes and start her up. if she runs good going down the road then you know your problem. Good luck

My first set of subs 12 years ago were 12'' orion xtr dvc's at 800 watts a piece max. they sounded pretty good in my bandpass...they had nice lows and highs. Right now I'm runnin, JL 12 W3 D4's in a sealed JL Box. They hit hard They're only powered with a 1000watt Kendwood amp but sound good. For components, I've got Boston Acoustics, runnin of a Kenwood 800watt amp..nice and clear good mids too.

When mine was bone stock everything, my garmin etrex showed me at 73.5 mph on a flat road... 1000 ft elevation. haven't checked it since
-
Don't worry about the needle position and because of your altitude you really shouldn't have to change the pilots. As for the Mains, you might want to go up 1 or 2 sizes. If it's stock your probably running between a 190 to 220 but most likely 200's...try some 220's...if they're to fat go down one to some 210's. after you change your mains, adjust your fuel mixture screws,(clockwise is richer) start at 1 AND 1/2 turns out, adjust these for crisp throttle response from an idle and you should be alright.

For all you motorcycle Mechanics

Is it a big problem...Not really. just depends on how much your losing and how fast.... The oil is most likely leaking from the oil drain ports in the head. I would replace the head gasket and when it's off bring it to a machine shop and get the head slighty planed to take care of any potential warping on the head. -
man oh man, you must have been trying to send smoke signals , 32:1 is plenty safe after a tank of break in mixture.

my brother got one a while ago for his Blaster to go along with a +4inch swingarm. it's the identical axle for the banshee. looks really nice, we do alot of rough trail riding, lots of hard whoops and some minor jumping. seems to be a nice product

I guess I'll leave em then. only reason I asked was cuz I read somewhere on a thread here that the reed petals could snap otherwise. Like I said, I've never had any problems before when taking off the reed stoppers on any other bike I've owned but just wanted to see if anybody has experienced otherwise
-
Just installed some boyesens in my stock reed cages. In the paperwork they say you can remove the brass reed stoppers and use their rev plates instead. Does anyone see any problems with that. I'm guessing that they could snap without the reed stoppers on there. I've run boyesens in other bikes without the reed stoppers and had no problems but just thought I'd ask.

Just a word of warning about the Tusk fuel cap breather. I ordered a cap a while ago, and it comes with the little tube and what looks like and inline water cooler for a breather tube. well after I rejetted my shee one day I turned the petcock back on and it wouldn't fire up, so I'm checkin plugs and shit and they're dry as a bone. well the little check valve that comes with the cap wasn't letting air in the tank on mine which would let air in for gas to gravity feed my carbs. I just use a standard tube now even though that little breather looked cooler. just be sure that it's working right on yours and you don't seize while riding. And hell yeah Rocky mountain does kick ass. I only really order from them and magic racing if I'm looking for an AC product.
