  1. I got my banshee insured by Selective Ins. in NJ. I'm Insured for 10k and i pay a little over $100 each year for theft and liability. I also have a 1984 atc 250sx on the same ins policy and that one is only $11 for liability.
  2. They Really should just do an update on the banshee motor to keep it around. Other changes like suspension wouldn't be bad but just enough to keep the shee around in the US. I mean the new snowmobiles like the Ski-Doo 600's that are coming out have the 2 stroke motors that have actually doubled their fuel mileage and kept performance just as potent while staying within emission regualtions.. just my .02
  3. 60 mph Seems a bit slow. You should def. see at least 65 or so. I ran 73.5 brand new on pavement..right after I broke her in bone stock on garmin gps. I hit 86 gps with my mods down below 15 tooth front sprocket. With the stock 14 tooth I topped at 81mph.
  4. Sounds like a blast man.. I haven't gotten a chance to go there yet this year. Yeah it is kinda pricey but you're right..well worth it. At least you can camp for free with free wood to burn. Gotta love that woods track and the finish line jump... Let me know if you decide to go again this year. My brother and I wanna go within the next 2 months.
  5. That sucks. I already purchased my arms from janssen. I could have gotten them cheaper huh? I wish i waited a little bit. They did mention that the arms were lifetime warranty though so that's one good thing.
  6. I went with noss machine also. Dave is great to deal with over the phone. After I installed mine with 21cc domes I felt a noticable difference in low end power. I'd go for it.
  7. If I were cruising in 4th gear not crankin I would be running at about 160-175 on an 80 degree day. I run engine ice too. The hottest I've seen was around 200-205 but I can always tell when it's getting hot without always having to look at my temp gauge because it starts runnin sluggish immediately. After that I either shut it down or just cruise around in 3rd gear to cool her down.
  8. I'm getting a refund if I can get a hold of gary. Sometimes he calls in a week, sometimes it can take up to a month to hear from him. I'm def going with the jannsen's though. Thanks again for the info brother. It was a big help.
  9. Did a little more research on janssen's and you can't beat the price. You say they're lifetime warranty? Looks like a great buy and 2 different chrome options too. As soon as I get my refund from quicksand I think I'm gonna pick up a set.
  10. well I've had $675 out for the quicksand arms for a while now so when I get that refunded I'm willing to put down as much as $1400 on rolls, Are they the Roll Design lobos that you're talking about that cost 1400? I went to the web site and it only shows non chromed arms. I'm guessing the rolls don't come with a warranty also? The jansen arms sound good though. Do you have any pics Endo? Can you get them all chromed from the factory? How much also for a complete set +2+1? I would rather spend the money and get a good set of arms that's why I went with quicksand but his customer service...all I can say is AWFUL! Thanks
  11. I ordered a set of quicksand arms about 4 months ago and gary has given me the run around about chrome problems and other bullshit for a while. I'm probably cancelling the order today if I can actually get him to call back or email me and want to get something else. I'm favoring roll design first off. I know they are expensive but do they offer a lifetime warranty? Also Does anyone know if they can be made with all chrome upper and lowers. The other 2, Laeger's and Lonestar both look pretty good too but I don't see any prices online for Laeger's. I ride some motocross and othe that that I would say cross country riding. Any comments on any of the three including Design, warranty, any reaming of spindles needed, good or bad comments. Thanks
  12. Is it just me or does the search feature on this site make it almost imposible to find anything. I've been on this site since 2002 and always loved searching for item specific things so not to ask to many repeated questions. Now I can't find much. Why did it get changed. It this just me or am I not using the new search correctly?
  13. The only number I know is 480-495-5932. His email is gsmartin@cox.net.
  14. He finally called me yesterday. Apparently my arms are still at the chromers. He said he was having problems with his chromer. He said a couple pieces he got back did not have enough chrome on them and had a blue tinge to them. He also said his computer took a shit and he just got a new one so I'm guessing he'll be getting his emails now. I was just glad to know that he didn't forget about my arms. I'm supposed to be getting them next week so that's one good thing. Can't wait to get em on
  15. Yeah, he told me that he got surgery on his eye around november or so but I thought from what he told me that he was alright. At any rate now when I try to leave him a message his mailbox is full. I've even tried calling from other phone numbers that don't look familiar so he doesn't say oh it's this guy again...even though I only call once in a blue moon. I've been more than patient with gary. he's a nice guy once you get him on the phone but as an owner of a business in the automotive field myself, if a customer calls with a concern you call them back right away and at least within a couple days at most. BTW Sorry to hear about the chroming on your swingarm. I hope mine don't come messed up or I might just send em back and buy something else. When I first called him he said he wasn't building at the moment because of his eye surgery. The reason my arms took so long initally is because he had a set of arms but they were already powdercoated from some guy that backed out of the deal. I asked if he could strip them and get em chromed I'd be happy. Well that first phone call was in the middle of October to order them. Now in the beginning of January apparently they were at the chromers' ready to get done. The shit is I already paid for these things too. I know he gives a lifetime warranty with no questions asked but you'll have to wait a lifetime to get a new set if they break
  16. I ordered a set of arms from gary months back and paid for them around thanksgiving. I can't get a hold of him now. I call him once a week to see if he's there and have left 2 messages. Last I spoke to him he said that my arms were coming back from the chromer and would be ready to ship out...that was a month ago.
  17. I used to use Lucas semi-synth in my dirtbikes and never had a problem. It's a good oil that isn't too expensive too.
  18. Yeah dave is definately a top notch seller with a great product. I remember when I put my new head on and took it for a ride, there was a very noticable increase in bottom end performance. Plus it looks great. Noss machine all the way
  19. They're definately fast. At least the 3-wheeler was. I used to ride with a guy in the late 80's who had a 250 trike and yeah it was unreliable. I towed him out of the woods many times with my atc 110, But when that thing ran it ran fast. He got clocked on a frozen lake hopatcong going 92mph. I don't remember what he had done to it but I know it was piped. It got stolen too. He was pissed to say the least.
  20. He's around, I just talked to him the other day about a set of arms. The website is now http://www.angelfire.com/az3/quicksandracing/
  21. I actually did that to mine. Same exact thing but I just used two(one on each side hyperbright leds to shine on my noss head. Looks awesome at night. You will have no problem with electrical at all. I wired mine through the ignition switch and have an on/off switch that I epoxyed right under the left control box by my thumb. If you wanna see pics I'll get em up. But yeah I love the look. They do dim when you're just sitting at an idle but once you get movin, they come to life. Those leds take practically no power at all and will not overpower your electrical system at all. You could run much more than six leds if you wanted to also. good luck
  22. That is a SICK deal. I mean just the roll design arms, the elkas and axle add up to most likely over 2000 dollars if you were to buy them seperate. If I didn't have a shee right now. I seriously wouldn't have thought twice about buying that machine. You won't find that kind of deal very often...especially with good brand stuff. You have one of the top 2 or 3 preferred choice set of pipes on it already. It's got one of the best set of a-arms. Most people would want a set of rolls...shit, that's all that team kawasaki runs now. Elka shocks with rolldesign arms. To have a ricky stator in, is also a good thing. You can now run some sick lighting for the dunes at night if you needed too. Also the fact that it's a mild port is probably better because you know it will still be a mostly predictable powerband. Plus there's room to port it more if you want it a little more crazy. I mean the guy did it right by putting all new bearings in too. I would Get It Now!! Good Luck bidding
  23. I used Klotz R-50 from day 1 in my shee. I use it in everything. My go-ped, weedwacker, leafblower and everything else.
  24. Yeah it does suck to have to send in your shocks everytime you want an adjustment. When I blew one of my elkas I decided to send both back for maintenance anyway and when doing that I just had them put the correct spring on for +2 a-arms cause I knew I would get them in the future. Actually just ordered a set of Quicksand Arms from Gary. Great guy to deal with, Top notch business all the way  Plus Elka gives you your original main springs back in case you want to go back to stock arms. I thought the ride would be rough but it's really not bad at all with stock arms. I also got them revalved cuz I found out that they never valved them correctly the first time. Anyway, I know that each main spring was $35 for the +2 setup. Hey on the bright side they have a 6 month warranty, So if you blow anything you can send em back and get them warrantied for free. Just make sure you send them in february/march so that you have the whole summer to beat them in case they blow.
  25. A friend of mine has black widows on his 450r. He rides really hard and loves em. He used to have standard works shocks on his 400ex years ago but says tthe widows are much better. If I remember though I think he paid alot for them. Somewhere around the price that elka elites go for.
