Is it true that in Cali you have to pay around $1600 freight/handling type fee on all bikes?? The reason I ask is I called alba for a price on a yfz450 and they wanted: retail price + the outrageous $1600 fee (says all dealers in the state have to pay it) + About $500 shipping. The total was over 9000! Why would anyone buy from there if that is the situation? For the pipe and graphics? The guy I spoke to was quick to point out that all thier quads are "dyno tuned" and he even said that he'd put one of his alba quads against any from anywhere in the country (sounded like a challenge to me). I found one near me for $7180 OTD. With the 2 grand I saved I can get a whole lot more than graphics and pipe. I could even pay to have it jetted on a dyno and still have some bread left.

Anyone want my chrome sst's? There is a little damage from removing them (where the pipe meets the silencer) but it will not be visible when installed. I can email pics.

Well, its done. I have the check right here, it says: deal #538 buyback from customer per stolen unit. pipes, nice ass nerfs w/footpegs that I never got to use, rear shock, axle, Hinson parts, DR clutch, sidewinder set, tm designworks pieces, Toomey radiator, plastics, handlebars and some more billet stuff are a few of the things I can remember taking off now. I have some before and after pics but I dont know how to post them. I cant believe its gone! At the dealer they said it will probably go to some impound lot and rot. I put rags in the motor to keep dirt out and everything too, thinking someone might actually get it back. Everybody here would be amused to see what I brought them and got all my money back. Lots people who worked there were laughing at how it looked. One guy sarcastically commented that I was slacking bacause there were still a lot of good parts on there. We set it on the ground and they took it off to the back on a forklift.

I ran 24:1 for the first few tanks to break it in and bacause thats what it says in the manual, but then i changed to 32:1 and it ran way better.

I did today!! I bought my 01 banshee on 2/19/01 form a dealer around here. Ive been riding it everywhere ever since. Adding mods all the time fixing stuff when it breaks etc. I never registered it or anything because there was no need to. In June of this yr one of my local riding areas made it to where you have to register your bike to ride (called Croom and owned by the state) Its not really my favorite place to ride so I wasnt in a hurry to go to the tag office and all of that bs, but finally today I went in there to do it. The guy behinnd the desk takes my bill of sale (all I have on the bike bacause when I bought it there were no titles on dirtbikes or atvs) and my license and goes in the back. About 5 minutes later he comes back and says "we got a problem" Im thinking "what does the state want from me now?" but he busts out with "your bike was reported stolen" Im was like yeah right I got it from a dealer, but he showed me a case # with my vin, reporting it stolen from another city in FL from about month before I bought it. SHIT So I go straight to the dealer and go to my boy in parts and he tells me that the same thing happened a couple months ago with another guy and his quad of some kind. Turns out the dealer had to but it back from the guy and it was ragged to hell. He brought me to the manager and we have to sort it out with the DMV in the morning. "see if it really is stolen" as he put it. BTW it was my buddy who told me about the other guy not the manager. DAMM!!! So what now? am I gonna be spending hours in the garage takin my stuff off and bringin them about 1/3 of a banshee? Wonder whats gonna happen in the morning????This is my banshee we're talkin about!!!! I cant believe the whole situation. BTW- my banshee was technically used when I bought it but looked new

Rocky Mt atv, Motoworldracing.com, and K&k has done me right in the past. just pointing out that Janssen Racing and NOSS are sponsers of the site. I dont have any experience with them, but Ive never heard anything bad about them. -
My homemade bead breaker has been the front tire of my Ford F-550 with someone standing on the rim. Those ways sound a lil better.

Everyone does now!! You just put your # out there for everyone. Now Im gonna do a reverse look up and get your address.... Just kidding

Really? They answer every time I call, and they get me parts overnight all the time. The prices are under 'services' on the website that everyone is showing you. -
Is it your kick starter?

Mobil 1 synthetic has friction modifiers and cannot be used in our clucth. Check out this thread about trannny oil. http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=16829

I use Yamalube, and believe amsoil is a pyramid sceme or something like that! Not saying anything about peeps who use it I just dont really like it.
-
I wonder that too. I also wonder how someone can yank something off right before it ends because its not a high enough price for them. I hate that!

Its hard to find anything on the net other than amsoil ads! I found this in my 2001 owners manual- Recomended oil: Yamalube 4 (10W30) or SAE 10W30 Recomended oil classification: API service SE,SF,SG type or higher Oil quantity: Total Amount: !.7 L (1.8 US qt) Periodic oil change: 1.5 L (1.6 US qt) CAUTION Be sure to use motor oils that do not contain anti-friction modifiers. Passenger car motor oils (often labeled "energy conserving") contain anti-friction modifiers which will cause and/or starter clutch slippage, resulting in reduced component life and poor engine performance. Castrol GTX is API SL rated which means its "or higher" Notice how it starts off with "be sure to use motor oils that ...." yes motor oils, MOTOR oils. I got tired of spending 6 bucks plus on "motorcycle gear oil" and havnt regretted switching over to the castrol, ever. I change so often it feels way better to throw away about $2.50 instead of $10 of oil. But thats just me.

Anti friction modifiers can NOT be used in our clutches, but castrol GTX doesn't have any. You know that little star or circle looking thing on oil bottles with the ratings? (something like sj, sl, or C-1,etc, etc.) If it says "energy conserving" or something along those lines in that circle thing, can't use it. Check out your castrol bottle and check out something like Mobil 1 full syn, you'll see what I mean. Remember "Anti wear additives" are in all oils, "anti friction modifiers" are different (didnt want you to freak out if you checked out your castrol bottle) written proof? Im all over it.
