balistc
Hi everyone, Okay. I've searched, and searched, and read..and I've read. I'm still baffled and confused about bolts! It seems that bolt kits for Banshee's are fairly hit and miss, in regards to quality and finish. I don't feel confident in dropping 100 or more clams on a bolt kit that may or may not meet my needs. I especially don't want to buy a bolt kit from eBay, when I live in Australia and metric bolts are everywhere, and a shop that specialises in high quality metric fasteners is only a couple of minutes down the road from my house! It also seems that replacing bolts is a common occurence, as vibrations naturally causes all of us to lose bolts at one point or another. SO, I've looked everywhere for Banshee bolt sizes, as I'm tired of crappy, mismatched bolts on my ride. I checked the Alba website as suggested in another thread and their parts list came up fruitless. My question is. Does ANYONE have a list of bolt sizes used commonly on our Banshee's? If not, maybe we can all pull together and post up bolt sizes for components we've changed or fitted to our Banshee's? I don't mind spending some time pulling bolts and measuring them, but it would be so much quicker if we all did one or two, and put a list together as a group. i.e. if you've replaced a few bolts here and there, post up the location on the bike, and the pitch, length and diameter of the fastener, so we can create a definitive list. In that way, we can avoid having to deal with crappy, high priced, chinese made fasteners, and we can go with a detailed list to our local fastener store and buy the highest quality fasteners available. For everyones assistance, here is a resource with printable charts and info, that makes it really easy to identify fasteners sizes and types. http://www.boltdepot.com/fastener-information/Measuring/ What do you guys think? Good idea, or not? I just think it would be beneficial to everyone and it could work really well if we all chipped in and worked out the sizes for all of the fasteners on our rides. Thanks guys Edited July 1, 2008 by balistc

gregrob
I have thought about putting together a kit. I work for a fastener company so it would be easy for me to kit these up and make you guys a great deal on them. If anyone would be interested in a stainless socket head kit let me know. I could probably do 3 actually Plain (cheapest) Stainless (more $$) and Chrome (even more $$ but bling for those who want it)

gregrob
Yep! That's what I would make the kits. Socket (allen) head.
jbooker82
Plain (cheapest)Stainless (more $$) and Chrome (even more $$ but bling for those who want it) I have bought some chrome allen bolts at Ace hardware. It gets real expensive real fast at 2 bucks a bolt. They look nice though.
