i leave in first gear but run a 18 tooth front sprocket.if had the money to put into a billet second i would change my setup to leave in second gear.but like dave said there is alot of different things that decides what gear to leave in

yea i know, but it was one of those what the hell days.. at first if was grabbing good then started slipping.. lesson learned i guess.. it just spins so bad in 2nd.. maybe i wil just try 3rd gear.. would 3rd be hard on the clutch?? whats a good biting tire to get?? what about zippers?? are they a good drag tire for dirt?

not sure what the dirt tracks are like there but on our dirt tracks out here ohtsu radial tires seem to work well for everybody.its a honda tire.here is a pic of one

now with 22s and a 15 tooth i only leave in first on the road. on dirt its a toss up between first and second. i dont drag enough to get a routine so its whatever im feeling that particular day
