I have perfect form in field goal kicking empty fuel cans into the street in front of my house.

lol i could pitch for the yankees when i get pissed, ilike to pick things up and throw them down the road. Either that or i punch them, i found out the hard way (about 30 times before it dawnd on me) that fists vs. metal = fail

yea i usually call her you worthless mother fucker, or common you stupid pos.

I'm just glad that i got the damn thing off. I got luck and was able to use the leverge from the cover it self to pop the screw loose, then i got some needle nos and just started working the screw out until i could grab it. Now I'm going to need to get a replcement. Thats bad when you replace every bolt on your bike to be a allen head so you dont strip it out and this happens :)

Direct Drive screws you over with the screws they use on their covers.......... they are actually a 6-32 screw which takes an SAE hex key, but a metric hex key that is near the same size fits and works most of the time. However, once you find a couple screw with the metric key and the hex on the screw gets worn, they strip and break very easily. :geek:

i have always used the 1/8 hex. i noticed when i too the cover off the first time that the mm key just didnt fit right so i swapped it for the american standard and it was fine. i was just a stupid ass and didnt seat the key all the way and turned it and stripped the head, then i flipped it over and used the tool hoping to get more leverage and it broke off inside, but all in all i got it out, now i just need to get another screw to replace it.

Hey just fyi, i have had really good luck with purple locktite. It lubes the screws going in so they dont gaul yet it doesn't hold like a mofo for getting them off. Bigger than about 1/4 inch and i use blue or red depending on what im doing.

Man...if you didn't have any luck, you wouldn't have any at all...

If you kicked it...you'd probably break or fracture a bone in your foot that takes forever to heal...it'd probably roll out of the garage, then right into someone's car... who is sue happy despite she's driving a 1985 Yugo on 3 spare tires and no car insurance. She'd fall out of the car holding her neck.... "Don't touch me mothafucker I'm on disability...."

Glad to hear it's ok. Once you get to go for a rip it's all worth it again....

I spent the first two trips to the dunes last year MFing my bike after 5 or 6 runs each time, popping an oring, then smoking a stator....

When I got to rip down the track finally, it was all worth it!!

its a little late but for future problems.......

use an air etcher(scribe).... just be real careful not to nick the threads... but just work the center of the broken screw. turning it counter clockwise... the vibration helps wiggle it while you turn it... i have used this trick at work and on projects at home... saves from further disassembly and possible work on bridgeport mill..

The etcher is a great idea........ I forgot about trying that. Luckily I have not had to do that in awhile. :geek:
