jbooker82 Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 i have a 18 and 19.theres bigger ones thoYou could always up grade to straight cut gears with a higher gear ratio. Quote
00tbanshee Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 i run a 18.not sure but with a case saver 18 might be tight Quote
The Faster Cracker Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 i have a modquad case saver on mine and i can not fit a 15 tooth Quote
Animalman294 Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 Ya, if you run a case saver, there is only so big you can go before it interfere's with something. If you don't run a case saver then you can go pretty high, but you need to have enough motor to push a sprocket that big. Most people adjust the rear size because its not as much stress on the motor........... Quote
krauss4 Posted April 5, 2008 Author Report Posted April 5, 2008 i put a 17 on front with no case saver. i cont go any smaller in the back im already at 38 tooth helped alot with the shears pipes. im running 19 mxr4s prolly going to go to 20s and drop to 16 t front Quote
Wildcardracing Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 Most people adjust the rear size because its not as much stress on the motor........... What??? Regardless, if you make the front larger or rear smaller it stresses the engine the same...a higher gear ratio is a higher gear ratio no matter how you achieve it. Quote
06BaNsHeE Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 I have a 36 and 37 for the rear.With a lonestar 4bolt sprocket hub.It was 155. Quote
NYUK Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 i ran 18 38 on my old drag bike. i have seen 19. it is dangerously close to the cases. no margin for error. chain slack, hopping teeth ect. then again, you can bolt them big gears up. but your bike gotta have the nuts to pull them. or you wasted your money on scrap metal. you will go nowhere.
