sa3ood_banshee Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 hi guyz, last week me and my buddies were at tha desert side and we rode on tha road ,for like 6 or 7 km,without stopping,i was running my shee on 6th half throttle, when we reached our point(tha store) my bike had not used alot of fuel and it was now even hot(rad was amazingly half warm),i heard some losers say that i could mess up my engine on 6th WOT but i wanna know if i can run it on 6th WOT for as long,or will it do some harm?? thnx sa3ood Quote
sa3ood_banshee Posted March 27, 2008 Author Report Posted March 27, 2008 and i wanna know if can just tighten my head without tha torque thingy,(over torque is ok) i really wanna have a peak into my cylindders thnx sa3ood Quote
okbeast Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 There IS the possibility of running the bowls dry. I wouldn't think it would overheat though seeing as ur pushing that much air through and cooling everything. As for not using a torque wrench on the head...sure it can be done. just try to get everything as even as possible. Quote
gregrob Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 As long as your jetted perfectly, or a little rich you can go 6th forever. I personally wouldn't go against the peg, maybe 3/4 throttle. If your lean it will melt down, if your rich it will probably foul plugs after a while at WOT, but wouldn't hurt the engine. If jetting is spot on, should have no problems at all. Quote
sa3ood_banshee Posted March 27, 2008 Author Report Posted March 27, 2008 alright thanx for tha heads up,my premix is 32:1,is it ok or should i add a verry little amountof oil for more lubrication, and my bitch is still stock so same jetting.and i put my fuel thing on res,so is there a major chance for tha bowls to run dry?? sa3ood Quote

Like if you put my Cub WOT against a stock port with pipes I would garanty you i would suck my bowl dry and blow the motor regaurdless of how well its jetted. the jetting will not make a differance how fast the bowl can fill up, they simply allow x amount of fuel into the carb body/motor at a given point of throttle Quote
magz Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Was talking with a local banshee builder in Tulsa,OK and he said he just laughs and smiles when he see people running at wot for long sections at a time. said it's what keeps him in buisness for 20 years now. Quote
zach45 Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 i got WOT for a long time when we do our street missions.. Quote
blanco25 Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 I heard the samething magz said. It actually came into play with the motor I have now. I went down to team racers edge in CA. and Dan saw how I ride my bike and wouldn't let me take it home. He said come back in a month and Ill have another built for your style of riding thats going to be more reliable. It sucked because I came from vegas to pick it up but ended up saving me money in the long run. Quote

The stock fuel valve will outflow the stock carbs by a lot. With a drag port or bigger cyls, bigger carbs etc there could definitely be a need for a pingle and bigger bowls. dajogejr Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Ok, let me add my .02 here. Just because the radiator isn't hot, doesn't mean inside the combustion chamber isn't...preferably top of the piston, etc. 32:1 is fine. No worries there. A bike could be jetted perfectly, but if it has excess compression or timing, it won't run that way @ WOT for long, running out of fuel or not. The motor will make too much heat. Quote
350BANSHEE350 Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 what he said ^ and besides 6th shouldnt really be full out, i use it as a cruise gear when i am on the gravel road, reach top of 5th and pull out 6th and leave it 1/4 throttle and just kinda blip it on and of never really go full on 6th unless i am racing one hell of a bike Quote
RollinRhino Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 You might want to retard the timing a degree or two if running top end a lot is your cup of tea. Quote
inthemail Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 theres a good one for you ^ and try to jet slightly rich. blowing up happens at some point Quote
Michael Jackson Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 maybe im a bitch but i never hold my banshee WOT in 6th gear at top speed for more than 10 seconds at most, fuck that...i got nothing to prove, let everyone else run neck and neck down the road tryin to gain an inch past the other guy.. ill watch and laugh Quote
