shee in 805 Posted January 23, 2008 Report Posted January 23, 2008 hey guys I would really appreciate your help here. My banshee started peeing gas through the overflow fuel lines. it only does it when its not running and the fuel is open. So in other words, if its sitting there with the fuel shut off its fine, and if its running its fine as well. The thing thats kinda weird is that it leaks through both overflow lines coming from the carburetor not just one. I already took the carb apart and cleaned it but its still the same. Quote
lost97 Posted January 23, 2008 Report Posted January 23, 2008 did u check the float in particular sometimes they take on fuel and dont float up to push on the needle correctly and or the seal on needle the float pushes on. just something more to check. ive had this happen on a few bikes ive had. 00tbanshee Posted January 23, 2008 Report Posted January 23, 2008 check the floats and make ure you don't have a hole in one, make sure that they are level when you turn the carb up side down and last take the needle and seat out and make sure there isn't any dirt down in it and might be wore.just replace both needle and seat if they are Quote
bansheeman1988 Posted January 23, 2008 Report Posted January 23, 2008 everything they said above, and to test for holes in your floats just make sure you think they are empty and stick them in some water or gas and if they start to bubble and fill with gas, thats where your hole is. Quote
shee4speed Posted January 23, 2008 Report Posted January 23, 2008 Yeah, exactly what they said. Quote
Bobman13 Posted January 23, 2008 Report Posted January 23, 2008 Are you Using the stock or aftermarket fuel line? When I switched to the pingel Dual fuel Valve I had the Same Problem With The Bigger line but I had to just Re-secure the Fuel line's to carbs I used Zip-tye's and they Are working great I just didn't have any clamp at the time. They Don't leak anymore. Quote
tgbanshee Posted January 23, 2008 Report Posted January 23, 2008 I had the exact same problem on mine before the motor blew. I'd have a full tank of gas, then go ride a week later and and find the tank to be down to 3/4 full, so I turned off the fuel after every ride. I cleaned my carbs out and found the right side main jet to be clogged so that is what blew my bottom end. Checked the float level and it was fine though I suppose I should check it for holes. Quote
shee in 805 Posted January 25, 2008 Author Report Posted January 25, 2008 well thanks for your responses guys. i hadnt replied because my stupid computer was down. well im going to do what you guys said and check the floats and needle and hopefully thats where the problem is. Quote
