akita8 Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 If its to cold to work on the shee you might have some ice in the fuel system somewhere. Quote
skylor Posted January 22, 2008 Author Report Posted January 22, 2008 Well I did get tore into it today and I found like 1 or 2 drops of antifreeze in the left pipe? and I found no dirt in the carb reeds are fine piston looks fine through the exhaust port i'm at a lose???? Quote
ziegman Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 Make sure you didnt put the slides in backwards, the curved part at the bottom of the slides should face the back of the carbs, make sure the choke crossover tube is firmly in place. Sync your carbs. Quote
skylor Posted January 22, 2008 Author Report Posted January 22, 2008 Will do but I haven't got to reassembley I still need to clean the right carb among other shit since I have it apart I myswell clean it up. Quote
skylor Posted January 24, 2008 Author Report Posted January 24, 2008 So I got everything back together I cleaned the carbs, drained the tank and refilled with fresh gas, new plugs, pretty much the whole 9 yards and the left cylinder is still shutting off. Reeds are fine by the way no cracks or anything to that nature Quote
sheerider1026 Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 maybe the plug cap is bad?? did you try switching the plug wires?? i think that both plugs fire at the same time anyway. Quote
bagged93chevy Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 I hate to tell you this, but mine was doing the same thing switched the plugs still the right side, switched the wires still the same side, checked carbs clean, put new plugs in still the same. Mine would only run on half choke and would die on full or no choke. Turned out to be a craked skirt on the right side. Mine also had coolant coming out the exhaust which is why I changed the head gasket and it still did the same but worse. I hope its not a piston but if it is go to magicracing.com they have a complete top end rebuild kit with everything you need for $180. Good luck hope its not that serious, just thought I would share what happened to me. Quote

twostrokemechanic Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 i had one shee do this before, tore it down and about 1/2 inch of the piston ring was missing. is the compression low? also the one im talking about the guy had a gas filter on it up higher than the gas tank outlet..and not letting enough fuel reach the carbs it was running out of gas and making it too lean, thinks thats what happened to the ring, lol. but ive seen a bad ignition coil go bad and do the similar problems your having but only after it got hot...check your compression 1st . skylor Posted February 5, 2008 Author Report Posted February 5, 2008 I think they were about 100 and 110 but I tore it down and its gonna get rebuilt anyway but I can't figure it out other than that the cylinders look fine and so do the pistons? Quote
