  1. yea its not the plastic's fault. but i bought some maier plastics once and just wanted to say .... they would be compared to a old washed up hooker. ya only need them if ya dont have anything else lol. and they look like hell before and after ya use em. plus just like the hooker ...if ya had something turning 8,000-12,000 rpm in between your legs, you would probably have sum nuts and bolts coming loose too!! but back to subject ...keep your bolts tight and if ya going for looks get some new oem yamaha plastic its the best!! at least in my opinion. i seen some one industries plastic it looked good too.
  2. Kevin Herr !! herrjugsracing.com i just got my cylinders back from kevin with a dune port for the 4 mill long rod and man do they look awesome! very nice work ,and a very nice guy to talk to and deal with, and very fast turnaround time!! still saving up for the 4 mill crank, but i will post back when i get it going, and maybe post some before and after pics and a video. .
  3. i got all my new plastic from mrcycles.com there the cheapest i found! a lot cheaper than the prices ive seen listed anywhere else. i got all my new oem yamaha 2000 plastic for my 1992 shee there . check it out
  4. does anyone make books on female intake and exhaust holes...too bad ya cant rebuild them..well actually when i tore her down her exhaust port was like new since i have never had any dealings with it or used it...but her intake port ..now thats a different story..it seemed to be .100 over already , but ive used it quiet regularly!! im still looking to find out how to resleeve it? lol ...one old man said once ya could run just the right sized kitty cat inside her intake port with a can of tuna and then use the exhaust port on the cat since it would be sticking out ...just cut off the tail and there ya go!! if ya know what i mean ..lmao....just had to do it! lol
  5. just make sure if your going back with the smaller cam ...make sure the heads are not too much for it! they may be race type heads with very large runners and maybe all out drag race heads! they would run but probably would do a lot of spark plug fouling and a lot of work on it every time you turn around. im a big block chevy fan myself and small block!.....heres a pretty bad ass chevy crate engine the 572 go check out the video http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...VideoID=3272251 at least you like chevys...if people wants real power and wants to win races they should invest there money in a chevy!! cause thats where the power is! later.
  6. thanks for the advice spike! yes i decided on the 4 mil stroker long rod with the dune port. already been shipped to kevin today! cant wait to see the difference .later
  7. yes ill have to purchase one of those! thanks
  8. thanks '00tbanshee' .....not to change the subject but, is my stock clutch gonna hold up with maybe a set of stiff springs?
  9. oh sorry i guess it would help to tell ya my riding style,sorry.....i mostly just ride out in the open ..drag racing some and occasionally we do some flat track racing, a small 1/8 mile oval or maybe a lil bigger.
  10. Hey, i need everyones opinion! this is my first owned banshee and its time for a rebuild , its .040 over with wisecos, unported stock cylinders, pro circuit pipes, ricky stator with adjustable plate adv +4 ,stock carbs with 300 mains, a cool head with 22cc domes,on pump gas,850 feet sea level. im getting kevin @ herrjugsracing to do a dune port job on it. i want to change domes to at least 19cc and run straight racing fuel at least 110 octane or 50/50 with pump gas and race fuel . ok while im at it i need a new crank.....should i go with the 4 mill stroker or stock stroke crank? and if the 4 mill which rod length, short or long? im looking for it to get all the power i can and be dependable also if possible. i started working on atvs/cycles since i was 17 and im 31 now, believe it or not ive never rode a ported banshee ! ive always worked on stock class bikes . i thought it was pretty quick with just a few bolt ons, so what are yalls opinions ?...so i can let him know what crank im going with so he can do my porting. and sorry for the long ass post!! just not too familar with the modded banshees.
  11. i had one shee do this before, tore it down and about 1/2 inch of the piston ring was missing. is the compression low? also the one im talking about the guy had a gas filter on it up higher than the gas tank outlet..and not letting enough fuel reach the carbs it was running out of gas and making it too lean, thinks thats what happened to the ring, lol. but ive seen a bad ignition coil go bad and do the similar problems your having but only after it got hot...check your compression 1st .
  12. if im not mistaken i think he gave me a price of $150.00 per cylinder. he is a great guy to talk to . he answered my email quickly , a must for you guys with all the chrome parts! a little expensive but its worth it !
