Get over to your local Fastnal, get a 10-24 tap and drill, pilot point first and have at it... They also have the zerk fittings. That's what I put in all my swingarms...

If you have no access, you can get it done without a press.

Just make a good mark with a center punch and use a #2 center drill to start the hole.

the larger drill will follow no problem.

Hey.... Harbor Freight sells an assorted zerk box with a bunch of diff sizes.. I bought one for $9 and all sizes included.. Should you mess up then step it up to the next size, the Zerk heads are same size for your grease pump! thumb.gif

yea im going to hit up that Fastnal place and get all the shit i need. i only need to make 4 zerks o im not going to bother with a shit ton of them. i just wasnt too sure that a center punch would make enough of a mark in 4130 chromoly to start a hole with a hand drill.

i need to get another grease gun, i got one last year and the damn thing didnt seal around the zerks and grease went everywhere

4130 is not as hard as most people think.

But the key is going to be in using that #2 center drill.

You can probably pick up a good HSS one for $2-3 at your local industrial supply store.

ok guys im scrapping the zerks but incase anyone wants to know... the most common zerk at a store like Fastnal is going to be a 1/4-28 zerk. for this you will need a #3 drill bit and a 1/4-28 tap.

cheers
