chevrolet banshee Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 pleas explain to me what exactly a 4mm motor is i think it is just a crank thats rods or something is 4mm longer but not sure and also what types of power gains do you get from these thanks Quote
bansheeseat$$ Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 A 4mil motor is a +4 mil longer then stock stroke crank.stock stroke is 54mm so a +4 stroke would be 58mm stroke.Don't confuse +5 long rod with stroke.Stock rod length is 110mm and +5 rod would be 115mm. Quote
BansheeKid15 Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 There is a button... called "search"... yea :geek: (for firehead) Quote
chevrolet banshee Posted October 4, 2007 Author Report Posted October 4, 2007 so what do these do for power Quote
sredish Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 so what do these do for power they add it, in a good way. more torque more power. Quote
Banshee0028 Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 Maybe its just me but this seems like NIGHT all over again Quote

Snopczynski Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 you want a wiseco hot rod 4mm stroker long rod crank. Then you want wiseco 795m pistons, a cool head with removable domes. Have the domes machined, have someone port the motor, get a clutch kit and a flywheel lighten job while your at it. Then find yourself some new and bigger carbs. Have a nice day! Quote
Bansh-eman Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 the idea of a stroker is very old, basically your taking a crank and moving the location of where the rod connect to the webs and moving them down. making the stroke of the motor more. stroke being the distance the piston travels inside the cylinder. so moving the location x number of mm will add double the stroke becasue its now traveling that dist down and up... this allows more power to be generated out of a smaller motor. theres a few things that have to be taken into concideration but we wont go over those right now. the long rod doesnt nothing for added power. it simply releave stress on your internal parts by changing the angle of the rods when the fuel is ignited during the power stroke. this is taken up by moving the wrist pin the same distance further into the piston so it does not puch out the top of your head... the link you posted is over priced. you can get a hotrods for like 400 bucks. then get you some 795 series weisco pistons. (assuming you got a long rod) Quote

That should work for me for now Quote
00tbanshee Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 (edited) if you don't want to spend all the money on a cool head just have your stock one redomed.does the samething and its only around 110$ Edited October 4, 2007 by 00tbanshee Quote
TurboBanshee420 Posted October 6, 2007 Report Posted October 6, 2007 I got a wiseco hotrods 4mm stroker 5mm longrod crank with gasket kit and 795 series pistons for $599 of ebay about 9 months ago. I still see the same kit every now and again. I didn't feel much of a gain just about 3 bike lengths on my buddy after a 1/4 mile. our banshees were exactly the same before I did it. But in all fairness I did go up a tooth on the front,(16) so that may have sapped a few ponies off my accel power but I stayed ahead the whole time. Quote
