We have one in the shop right now with an intermitant miss and when it relights, it will cause this. That would point at either the pulse generator gap or the CDI. Of course if a main jet is plugged, it will do near the same. We always use a scope to determine to rule out electrical problems B Edited September 28, 2007 by blowit Quote

locogato11283 Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 make sure your coil is grounded well. make sure the tabs are bare metal that it bolts to. i agree, it sounds electrical. Quote
05Special Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 I roasted a cylinder in my bike a couple months back...had too many to drinks and went for a ride in a snowstorm... sounded just like you described there... Quote
FIRST BANSHEE Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 If you haven't checked anything yet, I would check the plugs first. then make sure your grounds are clean and tight, check all electrical connections. also check fuel flow and clean the carbs. If you have spark arresters on make sure there not plugged. good luck Quote
05 banshee Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 well when im riding it it feels exzactly like a rev limiter even though banshees dont have them lol I had something similar happen to me last weekend. You could press the throttle full on and it wouldn't rev, sounding like it had a rev limiter. I pulled the air box because I had gone through some deep water and was wondering if I sucked some in. I have a K&N with a filter sock on it that was installed by the previous owner. I pulled the sock off the filter, and it was perfect after that. It ran stronger than it ever has in the couple of months I have had it. Not saying this is your problem, but check it out. Quote
locogato11283 Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 yea those pre filters are not good for anything other than sand. dirt will clog them up. Quote
05 banshee Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 yea those pre filters are not good for anything other than sand. dirt will clog them up. That explains it, I think the guy I bought it from rode in the sand a lot. Do you think it's worth cleaning the pre filter and throwing it back if I ever go ride in the sand? Or is a clean KandN good for a day of riding? Quote
