WOTFREAK Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 I am new to this forum but not to Banshees. I have had a couple and am searching for another. But have never heard of this green and red stickers stuff. Whats's the deal with those. Quote
jbooker82 Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 I am not 100% sure but it goes somthing like this. Green Sticker = Riding all the time in California Red Sticker = Riding only certain times of the year in California Green Sticker Banshees are the older ones. Because they were up to date with polution laws at the time of there manufacture. Red Sticker Banshees are the newer ones. They were not up to date with polution laws at the time of there manufacture. It is all crap based on technicalitys. A 1987 banshee has the same emissions as a 2006. Nothing really changed. Just the laws when the maches were made. I am not for sure where the Red sticker and Green sticker line is though. josh Quote

Michael Jackson Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 wow, what a bunch of buillshit, so if you wana ride year round, you gota get an older banshee frame and build on that? Quote
broncogurl Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 Yeah it's pretty much bullsh*t since they are the same bike just different years. '03 and newer gets a red sticker and pre-'03s get the green sticker. I used to have an '03 Blaster but bought an '02 and sold the '03 'cause of that stupid sticker thing. Got a better running Blaster out of it though and for cheaper. Also stole the front hydro discs off the front of the '03 and swapped them onto the '02. He he. Quote

bonzai272 Posted October 22, 2007 Report Posted October 22, 2007 (edited) Im not too sure what the fines are for disobeying this law but everyone I know with a red sticker ignores it and still rides year round. They say that the rangers dont really enforce it because they think its bullshit too. I havent ridden mine out of season yet but I plan on it next summer. Edited October 22, 2007 by bonzai272 Quote
Bansh88 Posted October 22, 2007 Report Posted October 22, 2007 Forest areas are where you'll get popped. They check for everything. Desert is a safer place to pull it off. I ride my red sticker '06 at Glamis without problems. It's one of those things that you'll probably get busted for after the fact. like if you're in a rowdy campor something and then they start checking stuff. Since '06 was teh last year, I bet all Banshees will be given Green stattus soon. It's dumb to make just 2 years red sticker. Making them all green would be easier for everyone, including the government. Quote
Ricehater Posted October 22, 2007 Report Posted October 22, 2007 you can ride pismo beach year round with a red sticker Quote

I was referring to riding year round at like Pismo, Glamis, Stoddard Valley areas, etc. Forest is def regulated more than desert areas. Quote
