i will post some pics of the port job on my cylinders next week, you should see the boost ports, they are massive, nearly the same size as the original intake ports. not sure what else has been done to them though, havent had a good look at them yet.

also the standard rz head has been machined to take o-rings (as have the barrels) instead of gaskets, and the combustion chambers have been machined to mimic 19cc pro design domes. what compression ratio will this put me at and is this a good combustion chamber design?

i will also have to take a pic of my electrical system as well, as i think i am missing something, i do not have that heat sink looking thing that is in matt96shees pic, what is that?

thanks for all your help guys, it is much appreciated! i am sure that once i get this thing running i will be just as knowledgable as you guys and be able to help someone out as well!

thanks,mark

Cool I'd like to see pics. That silver finned thing is the voltage regulator, you need that. You might run a search for an RZ forum to see if another model reg will work like RZBansheeMan mentioned, there's a couple dedicated forums out there. And yes the RZ stator is gonna have more wires, specifically three whites.

I'm glad to see more people trying the RZ motors. They are night and day different than the Banshee's. The flanges are easy, the wiring isn't hard just takes time, pipes are limited, but in the end you end up with the motor the Banshee should have had.

I have been messing with these motrs for about 4 years now and would nevber go banck to a stocker.

Here is a pic of my current ride with an RZ motor.

Yes, it is an old street bike starting from 1983. It's what the Banshee engine was basically taken from yet, in a very detuned state. I think the Banshee's stock ( factory ) power rating was only in the 40's and the U.S. model RZ's were in the high 50's, some of the European model RZ's were in the low 60's. So you can see where th banshee was really short changed.

The RZ's had better porting than Banshee's and they power valves which is a very big plus. Yamaha was way ahead of they're time with having them electronically operated ( just for instance, the new CR 250's are too ).

Check this site out for some RZ info. www.RD350LC.net

hey guys i just posted some pics of my barrels in the image section, go in for a look and let me know what you think.

would especially like to hear your thoughts on the "boost" ports or extra intake ports that they have.

also, im pretty sure i have the RZvoltage regulator, its just hasnt got the heat sink fins on it, does this make sense? diff model perhaps?

thanks, mark.
