black sunshine Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 my bike is dumping feul out of the left crb at the overflow lines. is the float stuck and if so how do i fix it? Try giving the float bowl a few taps with a screwdriver handle. If that doesn't work, take the carb apart and give it a good cleaning and then blow it out with compressed air. Check the float height and inspect the needle/seat area for wear. Quote
EastCoast Banshee Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 Id just tear them both down and do a good cleaning on everything. Doesn't take long and keeps you from headaches later on. Quote
BellicoseBanshee Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 take the carb apart and give it a good cleaning and then blow it out with compressed air. Check the float height and inspect the needle/seat area for wear. I Had the same problem one trip to the dunes. I did the same thing black sunshine is suggesting. Never saw sand/dirt or anything else when the carbs were apart, but the good cleaning and check-up solved the problem. I know this might be common sense, but if you do one, do both. Also, if you are not familiar with carbs, disassemble, clean, inspect, and re-assemble one carb at a time; ensuring the parts do not get mixed up makes life much easier! Quote
CMAC Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 How old is the bike? If its been sitting awhile you might want to get rebuild kits right away and be done with it. Quote

I get kits from my local Yammy dealer. I can do both carbs for about $25. Done every season to prevent probs before they happen. Quote
r/atvshee Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 If all that doesnt work. Try swapping floats. Same thing happened to my Keihin pwk 35's when i just got them. I ended up tearing them apart swapping carbs, ect. It was a pain in the ass. I finally swapped float with a spare 35 i had laying around and it did the trick. Quote
