when is a banshee....not a banshee

I've been spending a lot of time on this forum and i see some pretty built banshee's. I see some atv's that are drag only that dont even look like a banshee.

 

So my question is simple, what is the fine line where YOU think a banshee is not a banshee anymore.

 

For me it's when the front is stretched. I can see a longer rear via swing arm but once you go longer in the front....it just looks over done. I understand it's for a purpose and it works. There's another part of me that says as long as it's a twin cylinder two stroke it's still a banshee no matter what but the first part of what i said still comes to mind.

 

This is not to start a war, just wanna get some people's opinions. :shrug:

I would say when the front is stretched. Or like a motor swap like a tripple, street bike motor.

Id say not a banshee if the motor was swapped, but still a banshee if the front is stretched

A Banshee is no longer a Banshee, when the motor is changed out for something completely different. Like a crotch rocket motor, snowmobile motor etc. It's still a Banshee, even if it has a cub, or big stroker motor.

As long as your still using a banshee bottom end its still a banshee, like majicmike's cranker. May have been highly modified but it still started out as a banshee and to me always will be. If it started as a banshee and the inspiration was from a banshee I'm good with it being a banshee. plus i'm a little drnk ahahaha....but seriously lol.

It's only a Banshee if it has a twin 2 stroke (any displacement) and the radiator setup looks like an old washboard.

I would have to say as long as its the stock frame (modified or not) and the motor is banshee based its still a "Banshee" but as long as its banshee powered.. I'll still say its a banshee.

 

If you took a corvette motor and put it in a dune buggy would you still say its a vette? But on the oppisite side of the coin.... If you put a different engine in a vette.. would you still call it vette?

 

In the long run.. its all in the eye of the beholder.

On the same note as what some of you said, i really like how some people modify excisting parts to make something insane.

As long as you can still put banshee plastic on it, and a banshee engine in it (even in the case of the bottom end being changed and machined to be triple cylinder) its still a banshee

 

Frame shouldnt matter, aftermarket frames are built for all sorts of different environments

 

I know I wouldnt mind having a 250R geometry frame. It ends up using all 250R chassis parts, banshee radiator, plastic, and engine. You look at it and it still looks like a banshee but something just seems meaner.

 

Go to an atv drag race. Watch all the quads pull up to the line. A banshee pulls up with a drag chassis and you arent going to call it a banshee?

I would say its not a banshee anymore when it does not incorporate any stock or aftermarket parts in at least 50% of the bike.
