I just purchased a stock shee and put a T5 pipe kit. I read the manual and it said it only has a 6.5:1 compression ratio that should be good for 87 octane right? I dont have anymore mods because its fast enough right now...

yeah i got the kit with filter and jets....

but with a 6.5:1 ratio why you need 90+. most 4 stroke motors are in the 9's plus and run on 87. im only asking with the 3.00 plus prices.

and in ohio we have 87 89 93 to choose from with a ten cent difference.

also off topic a little but how much trail riding (mostly around idle and some full throttle bursts up hills) to you get mile wise?

I run 87 and I havnt had any probs. Pipes dont have any affect on compression so you will be fine on 87oct gas.

LOL, its not about how long your gas will last... its about how much of a pounding your body can take with stock suspension. ive never burned more than 4 gallons riding a full day of trails. Riding dunes however, i have burned upwards of 8 gallons a day
