wooten Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 well i have the cover took off and the pressure, and was pulling the old clutches out and noticed that there was rubber o rings between each one, but the new kit didn't come with them so do i use the old ones or what and what does the six screws need to be torqued at?????????? please help Quote
64xracer Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 Throw the 0-rings away and just put it together without them, they are just clutch cusions. I think the screws are torqued to 86inlbs but not for sure. Quote
bigboybanshee Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 Like the others said, throw the o-rings away! And I never torqued the 6 bolts for the outer hub/springs...I just tighten them down gradually in a criss cross pattern until they're pretty tight  Quote
Screaming Yellow Zonker Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 I am with them toss those pieces. Also did you soak your clutches in fluid overnight??? Quote
wooten Posted April 28, 2007 Author Report Posted April 28, 2007 the clutches has been soaking for about 2 weeks now i had so much to do with all the bearings and bushings and swingarm but how many foot pounds is that i dont have a inch pound torque wrench thanks so much for the quick reply's Quote
spike Posted April 28, 2007 Report Posted April 28, 2007 If I remember correctly the clymer calls for 7 lbs/ft. Quote
Satsol67 Posted April 28, 2007 Report Posted April 28, 2007 I asked the same question when I replaced my clutch bands. Just like everyone said ditch the O-rings. Quote
wooten Posted April 29, 2007 Author Report Posted April 29, 2007 got them in there but haven't torgued them yet also should there be a little play in the little shaft with the cable turned al teh way in on the lever ?????? Quote
Screaming Yellow Zonker Posted May 6, 2007 Report Posted May 6, 2007 you want a little play on the shaft. if you don't that means you have a constant load on the shaft and ball which can weld the shaft to the ball. Quote
