What is a good motor setup for cross country?

Hi, can some of u tell me what would be a good motor setup for cross country, wil a cub do good? Should i just get my jugs ported? Thanx.

I wouldn't mess with a cub. I think a mild ported 4 mil stock cylinder setup would be ideal :thumbsup:

I agree with bigboybanshee, get your stock jugs ported by a reputable builder with a 4 mil crank, +4 timing, some mid range pipes (PTR or similar) and a 34 or 35mm single carb kit and you'll have a killer cross country machine.

cubs are not trail friendly.. go with some woods porting and a 4mm setup. talk about a torque monster..

I hate to heard this, cubs can go in trial, ask to the builder the port them in consequence.

Porting would really only make it worse. If you took my cub on trails you would end up dead and have a trashed bike. Cubs are too much bike for trails, when there are way better options out there.
