Banshee750 Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 Ive got a phoenix automotive auto bleeding system, and ive blead and blead but not getting any resistence on the lever so i got a used resovoir lever whole assembly and same thing is happening, if i pump allot my fluid level goes down then when i stop pumping it comes flowing back into the res. Do i still have air in lines somehow or is there issures elswhere???? THANX Quote
jlsparky7 Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 ditch the automatic bleeding system and use a clear rubber hose. Quote
CenCalBanshee Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 Yea thats what i used the other day was a clear rubber hose. it took a long ass time but it worked. Its one of the crappy things to do on a banshee i think. Quote
Screaming Yellow Zonker Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 Pull the bleeder all the way out and check if it is plugged. If so run a small drill bit through it just removing the crud. Quote
fasstbanshee Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 use a screw driver and push the pads on both sides in so it compresses (if you can do it to both sides at the same time) the caliper this forces the air into the reservoir. do this after you have bleed the brakes several times. then pump them up and you will still have to bleed them but it won't take much/ its wierd but it has always worked for me Quote
Banshee750 Posted April 4, 2007 Author Report Posted April 4, 2007 I will try that tonight and get back to you, but i bet you i have 2 hours of constant bleeding in and am getting nowhere, ill try you method.............THANX Quote
gregbowler Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 I just gravity bleed mine one side at a time. All good Quote
RIPPEN Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 I just gravity bleed mine one side at a time. All good Best advice around right there IMO.. Initial gravity bleeding is ALWAYS what has worked for me.. RIPPEN Quote
IROOST1 Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 try getting a used yfz450 master. that cures the banshee bleeding problem Quote
ClimbAnyHill Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 I used this bleeder http://www.rockymountainatv.com/productDet...odFamilyId=1481, I suppose you can make one as well. Simply start pumping lever you'll the the bubles rise & this bleeder keeps air from going back in. I wen't back n' forth on the calipers till I was done. Quote
hubmonkey Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 Okay you said you have no pressure on the lever right? Do this. Open the resi and fill it up with brake fluid, to the top. Loosen the hndlebar clamp and rotate the assembly back, so the banjo bolt it in the up postion. Take the brake line off the banjo bolt and see if there is fluid in the piston. Put fluid in the piston put the brake line and banjp bolt back on and raotate the assembly back. You should the get lever pressure back. You have air in there. Hub Quote
