sheescreams710 Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 Hey everyone. I have a brand new bone stock 05 banshee and it tends to bog in the low end but once i hit the powerband it screams like it should. Also the spark plugs have are black and wet. i am running 32:1 yamalube. Somebody please help me! Quote
locogato11283 Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 first off, id switch to klotz or some other type of oil. i run klotz at 40 or 50:1 with my gas. how did you determine the plugs are wet and black? did you do a wide open throttle plug test? or did you just stop riding, shit it off and pulled the plugs? Thanks for your reply. First, I do intend to start running a different oil. My friend suggested hr2, but I am still open to other suggestions. All i did was put new plugs in, went out for a 45 minute ride and looked at them when I was done, I don't know what the wide-open throttle test is. Quote
FasterThanU90 Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 try running a smaller premix ratio for starters then play with jetting Quote
scooter Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 i dont think yamalube at 32/1 is a problem at all. sounds like your running rich. when you say bone stock im guessing you dont have pipes yet.i would do a plug chop the correct way and then adjust your jetting Quote
jlsparky7 Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 Take the snorkle off the airbox and run 40 or 50:1 with a high quality synthetic and you should be good. Quote
kojack Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 sounds rich, do a plug chop. Here is a link and if you go to search and type plug you can read other forums. http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/plugchop.html good luck Quote
mpbanshee Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 If you have a bone stock quad, I doubt any jetting adjustments are necessary. You may just need to take off the carbs, and clean out all the jets and passages. Have you ridden Banshees, or any two strokes before this? Someone who is used to a 4 stroke may think a perfectly tuned banshee has a problem at low end... Quote

Your probably just not used to the lack of bottom end power that Banshees have. Quote
