  1. We are wondering where the best places to ride in vegas are and if anyone wants to hook up and ride. I know Dumont isnt to far but is there closer sand than that?
  2. Make sure your slides arent in backwards, check the cables to be sure that they arent getting hung up mabye at the y. I had this happen a few times before and it keeps a slide from seating all the way down which causes it to idle high. To set the idle do you have a carb sync tool. Jeff at fast sells one that works great. I would start there. Good luck
  3. Im running a alky banshee and currently use a pingel dual flow and I use fuel filters. I ordered a ez purge but its a pain to get it setup with fuel filters. Anyone using one of these and if you are are you using fuel filters? I know the pingel has a filter but it seems like sand could make it past it. Any thoughts from those who have this setup would be great. Erik
  4. did you make sure the clutch adjuster is lined up properly on the case? I have seen that first hand cause slipping and popping of gears in a used banshee I bought.
  5. Did it run fine in the summer? IN the winter the air is thicker and you may need to go to a bigger pilot. Mine idles fine in the summer and barely does in the winter due to it leaning out.
  6. Yeah I had the same thing happen and it was my throttle cable sticking. Check the cables first to be sure the slides arent hanging up.
  7. I would go back to 2 carbs but if your wondering if your running rich do a plug chop.
  8. what are you dropping in there to remove the nut? I had a problem removing mine to and I went to the hardware store and bought a huge nut that dropped in the hole that I could put a socket on top of it as well to get it out. The nut i bought was 28.5mm by 16.5mm but I would encourage a 30mm nut. This one was a little to small. If I can next time I want one about an inch tall so i can get a better grip on it with my socket. Good luck
  9. fleabay is where i get 3/4 my parts f.a.s.t for the rest
  10. im running klotz techniplate now and I like it. It does start a little hard in the cold. I will block off some of the radiatior. I have a pingel dual flow with mikumi's ftz 3.5.5 flat slide carbs with big bowls. I dont plan on going wot all the way up the hill probably 1/3 throttle until i get to some fun climb that I will wot at. Do you still think I will have a problem with draiinig the bowls?
  11. twice the power why. My other banshee would be spinning the whole time up the hill and start to heat up, belive it or not. I would have to let it cool down after climbing the one hill about half way up which is about 2 1/2 miles. I know what you mean by the cooling. I love running my alky in the summer when its 100 out and i never have to cool it down. Im more concerned with seperation of oil and other issues. The power is definately the reason why.-Erik
  12. Does anyone know of issues running alky in the cold. I have heard from some that it seperates and from others that they run theirs on frozen lakes. So I dont know exactly what to think about running it in the cold. I was wanting to use mine on the snowmobile trails that are packed snow. Last year I had a blast doing that with my other banshee but I think the alky would be funner to run in these conditions. Any input is appreciated.
  13. I was just at rexberg last weekend and was having problems with my carb slides not going all the way down. THey are Mikumi 35.5 ftz's alky carbs which have worked great until this weekend. If you let off from wot the slides would bottom out fine but if you were putting around they wouldnt drop all the way. I pulled them apart and noticed that the slides felt sticky. Does anyone know if alky gets sticky feeling in the cold. One guy said it was probably bean oil that the previous owner was using that was gumming up in the cold. Anyone ran into that before?
  14. I wouldnt use that stuff. There isnt much to them just take one off at a time so you get them back on the right side. Be sure you put your slides back in the right direction. If your not good at remembering stuff you could film it as you take one apart. Under the bottom where the float bowl is your main jet hangs down. Take it out and check the pilot which is below it to see if its clogged. If things look crappy in there you could soak in that carb cleaner solution but be sure to remove all gaskets and O rings.
  15. You should be able to do it yourself. I have been running mine for about 2months now. It seems easy to do like the shee said you grind off the rivets then you screw the gear into the new baskett and loctite. I havent had any issues but was wondering if there was supposed to be a little play so the cushions would work. We cranked down the screws as hard as we could then used red loctite and so far so good. Erik
  16. We did the job already. I did use locktight and cranked down on the screws. In the back of my head im always wondering how the bushings do anything when you crank down the screws tight. Im not going to straight cuts i just did this because i was getting some chatter.- Erik
  17. yeah this one is going on the woods banshee not the alky one. The alky one had the hinson inside already.
  18. I ordered in a billet aftermarket clutch baskett that you have to remove the gear off the stock and screw it on. It didn't come with instructions but did come with bushings. Does anyone know how tight you should screw on the gear. I figure if you overtighten the gear the bushings would be useless but I dont know for sure. Let me know if anyone knows. Thanks
  19. does anyone have a opinion on if outerwears restrict airflow to much on a quad running alky on 35.5 ftz carbs. I keep the outerwears clean but I often wonder if they restrict the flow. Any input is appreciated.- Erik
  20. I cant say their more reliable. My bud works at the suzuki kawi shop and he says their not more reliable and more expensive to fix. I havent had to wrench my engine for 2 years.
  21. anyone riding at rexberg over labor day weekend that wants to hook up?
  22. you would probably be better off putting the money towards k&n Pods, advance timing plate, reeds, etc.
  23. one more thing on those steel plates you may want to reference your banshee manual for how their supposed to be installed. In my Clymer manual it shows how their supposed to be offset. Unless you know how their supposed to be installed. Erik
  24. from what i understand, which isnt much those small indentions are supposed to be offset from each other. The weight of the indentions being offset is supposed to help break free the clutch plates from each other. I have my tusk steels laying there to. Let me know if you do it and it helps. -erik
  25. i will give you mine. I have an old one laying in the scrap steel pile. Send me 10bucks and i will ship it to you.
