They have actually become very sought after and expensive bikes. They are 4 cylinder bikes. I believe it was 4-125cc cylinders, tow reed fed, two case fed, four pipes, one down each side, two under the seat. Mean bikes. Quote
locogato11283 Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 im guessing they were really high strung bikes? prolly revved pretty high and no torque? i bet they sounded sweet. Quote

MudDuck Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 The RZ500 i heard was very under tuned from Yamaha. Heres a link to a slightly modified one. Guess the stock reeds were very restrctive. Just using RD reeds gained a bynch of power. http://www.madmanengineering.com/rz500.htm Quote
dawarriorman Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 rz500 was a tank. It was a twin crank 4 cylinder (yes you read that right). Never was a real racing bike. They didn't sell it in the US because of emissions. Quote

It uses a different cdi setup though, and it has powervalves. The even cooler bikes were the tz500. Then there was the tz750. Big Banshee Motor. Basically two side by side as a 4cyl.
