UnKonshisTheorys Posted December 23, 2006 Report Posted December 23, 2006 how often do transmission gears go bad if ever????? its a 99 guy said it wouldnt shift any more and he had just replaced the clutch plates and springs...could it just be a screw up with the clutch or is it a possiblity that the transmission really is screwed Quote
Ting Ting Posted December 24, 2006 Report Posted December 24, 2006 (edited) He Could have a bent shift fork, but yes trans do go bad espacially when you jam gears or let the fluid leave go to loww I had my second gear lock up on the shaft from getting to hot. Or hey could have the shift adjuster way off. Edited December 24, 2006 by Ting Ting Quote
locogato11283 Posted December 24, 2006 Report Posted December 24, 2006 clutch plates and springs arent gonna have much to do with it not shifting..its either gonna be the shift forks, or some shift component. theres a couple springs and some small shit in there that could go bad...it wont shift out of neutral?? chevy7398 Posted December 24, 2006 Report Posted December 24, 2006 mine wouldnt shift once and it only ended up being the shift shaft itself was bend and binding maybe youll get that lucky too Quote
