Bansh88 Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 Are there aftermarket tanks that will fit with stock or Fullbore plastics? I could use a tad more capacity but don't want to give up my sweet look. I definitey don't want to run those god awful IMS blobs of a tank. Quote

Bansh88 Posted November 29, 2006 Author Report Posted November 29, 2006 Dude. they look terrible. No offense. Doesn't the 250R tank fit under stock plastics? I maxed the tank out last trip. Wash 19 to Brawley Slide, then out to almost roadrunner, back around to Brawley, over to Gecko Loop, out to Olds then to the drags. I hit reserve leaving the drags. Made it to Olds road from Sand Highway before the reserve cut out. So, a stock tank aint too bad. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 not sure if a 250r fits... but i dont think they have any more then stock banshee tanks do they? actually i just googled it and if those wil fit under thats the way to go... they are bigger then the ims tanks.. they are 4.8 gallon.. i didnt think they where that big Quote

locogato11283 Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 i dont think it gets much tighter than a banshee tank fittin under fullbores. i dont see how youre gonna get a bigger tank under there with fullbores... Quote
LiftdT4R Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 I know it's off topic, but the one IMS tank looks identical to the stock one with the shroud. It has the grooves and everything in it. I have it on my bike, and most people don't even notice it's an OS tank. Granted a lot of the other opnes do look like shit, and you would be SOL if you have full bores. Here's a pic of mine, I like it, think it looks 100% better then the really fuckin' big ones. Quote
BigRed350x Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 Not too bad looking. I might have to check into one of those when I finish my next banshee build. Its going to be a hell of a gas hog and I plan on duning it. Quote

ClimbAnyHill Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 One of the best mods for the Banshee.. IMS Tank & it gives it kinda of an Mx look. I ran all around Dumont with no worries about running out of fuel. I kept jammin up & down & all over Dumont, while other Banshee's had to park their bike to save fuel. Quote
feedmelies Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 (edited) I just bought a six pack rack for $75 and a two gallon gas can for $10. Slap the can on with a few bungee cords and you are set for less than $100. Plus, you can always remove the gas can and even the rack pretty easily. Edited November 30, 2006 by feedmelies Quote
ClimbAnyHill Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 Very true, thought about that many times. Just think a rack in the back with a can looks worse than a bigger tank! Quote

Well, my bike isn't really a show stoppper. The plastics have bend marks on the rear from the previous owner and the bike seriously lacks bling. It gets the job done well though, and that's all I care about right now. Quote
