cam2 Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 i'm hoping to get my new engine running today and do some breaking in this weekend so i was hoping to get some help with a good starting point on the jetting. i have small bore shearer in-frames, 35mm pwk's, k&n pod filters, v-force 3 reeds with cascade stuffers (pic below), and match ported case. i'm at sea level and the temp will be in the mid 60's this weekend. i put the clip in the middle position on the needle, a 55 pilot, and 160 main. would this be a good starting point or should i start with a larger main? flea49 Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 I run about the same setup as you only i run 38mm carbs,55 pilot-180 main -cel needle, at 800 ft above sea level. Quote

r/atvshee Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 yea. it would be different. i would think that your jetting would be a pretty good starting point Quote
locogato11283 Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 ive run 33, 35 and 39mm pwk and they all have run about the same jetting. id start with about a 162 main and 48 pilot and see how you come out...mine right now at 1000 ft above sea level, and 50 degrees or so is 160 and 45... Bansh-eman Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 im at sea level try this.... 158 mains 55 pilots CEL 3rd clip 2.5 turns Quote
dajogejr Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 Cubs like a smaller pilot, bigger main. I had the EXACT same setup at yours....down to the case matching and the VForce stuffers. 48 pilots, CEL needle mid clip, 160 mains. 55 is the pilot we use for alky...it's too big for gas. Trust me. Mine ran like a raped ape at the drag strip, but putting back to the pits with that large a pilot would load up my plugs after 10 to 15 runs... Had to give it a little gas to start it when warm... (It also started 1st or second kick, stone cold, without the choke) I put 48 pilots in, needed choke just to start, good and clean off the bottom and didn't load up plugs on the ride back to the pits....
