cam2 Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 (edited) this may be a dumb question to some, but is it possible to put the complete engine (jugs and head installed) into the frame? when i built the engine the last time with the ported stock jugs i put them on the engine when it was mounted in the frame. it seems like it would be easier to install the cub cylinders while the engine is on the bench. so i want to make sure that i can put the complete engine in the frame with the top end on. Yes, you can, it just takes a little moving around in the frame. Make sure you have the gas tank off to make it easier. But I guessing you did this before pulling the engine out. Quote
locogato11283 Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 yea you can install the complete motor when its all together. put it together on the bench then install. leave the spark plugs out. youll need the gas tank off too... Quote

David Keith Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 thanks fella's. i thought so, just wanted to make sure. Just remember to install it from the rear brake pedal side. Quote
Hilarious Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 I also put my engine together, outside of the frame. Not hard to stick the whole thing back into the frame at all. Quote
Aaron.D Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 That is a good question and let me tell you I recommend doing the motor assembly out of frame. It gives you more room to work, Also reduces the chances of loosing parts or getting Debree in the lower case and then loosing your transmission. So rock on. Quote
