scooter Posted October 26, 2006 Report Posted October 26, 2006 anybody notice any performance gains over one or the other ? quality issues? i want the best cool head i can get for my quad and pro design is much cheaper in my area . i know cheaper is not allways better and im not afraid to pay more for a better quality product but if there the same ill get the pro design. thanks for the help Quote

Other then that I think their almost Identical and domes interchange. I'll agree the Trinity head is nice though.. I really like the looks of the Stage IV PRO head. Quote

Do you gain that much more strength from the longer head bolts? I have been looking at the NOSS myself. Looks great but its hard to see how the milling is inside the head. On the stage IV you can see the milling from an airplane. What do you guys think? Quote
dajogejr Posted November 17, 2006 Report Posted November 17, 2006 The only one that requires longer head studs is the Pro Design. Another problem with the pro design is it does not force the coolant down thru the cylinders like the system was designed, it passes straight thru the head and back into the radiator which causes higher temps in the lower part of the cylinder. If you want a good head use the NOSS, it is cheaper (from the right dealer) and it also uses Pro design domes (easier to get). If you buy a trinity they are the best IMO but you have to buy their domes (which can be difficult to get at times) and they are not interchangable from one to the other. As for quality both NOSS and Trinity are really close so which everyone you buy you will not go wrong. But remember Trinity's price does not include domes and a set of domes will run you around 85 or 90 for the set and a set of Pro Design Domes are less than 65 at the right dealer. Just my .02, does anyone disagree with me? Nope...I agree 100%. Good point on the non-interchangeable domes on the Trinity, and the higher cost of domes, too! Quote

scooter Posted November 17, 2006 Author Report Posted November 17, 2006 When you are comparing prices, remember that BHQ members get a 10% discount making a silver head with domes $234.00 + shipping. -David i went with the noss head and must say i am impresed with the quality so far just got them installed tonight 20 cc domes. i will test them out this weekend.couple of things id like to say i called mr noss with questions and he was most helpfull with everything i wanted to know. i liked actualy talking to a real person that cared about what they sell. another point is the noss head comes with all the nice nuts and bolts to install it dont have to buy a nut kit to go with it. no stud changing was nice too. and i told him i read about it on bansheehq and he took 10% off very nice. i would recommend him . Usualy pro design runs 20-30 bucks more than noss without discount.. I have been on HQ for quite sometime and have never heard anything negative about Dave or his product.. Ducman Posted November 17, 2006 Report Posted November 17, 2006 The anodized noss heads look sweet, and you cant beat Noss customer service. Can you call any other head manufacture and ask questions or have them make you a custom set of domes to fix your squish clearance issues? Quote
