BANSHEEMANIAC Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 (edited) i dont know if i would use paint cleaner, solvent, on it. i use purple power on mine, hose it out from the inside, let it dry, and then spray it with oil. you can use k+n filter cleaner kit also. firefighterjosh Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 When I still had the stock airfilter set - up I used Dawn dish soap with Degreaser. Washed it with warm water and let it set out until it dries. Then I used Klotz Foam Airfilter Oil. I wouldn't use Gas ir anything ecuvlant (sp?) I heard it eats the foam. Quote

Sounds funny, but WD-40 is mostly solvent. I buy it by the gallon. Spray filter with WD and it penetrates the filter oil and starts breaking it up. Then wash with dawn in the kitchen sink. Let sit over-night to dry. If you want to test for proof, put a gob of greese somewhere and spray the greese with WD, watch how it starts to disolve. Quote
KlotzBanshee Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 (edited) Here's a funny one. I use... FOAM FILTER CLEANER... I Know, it sounds crazzzy. I works great, and cost me like 4 bucks. I Usually use PJ1. BTW - Do your motor a favor and ditch the stock filter. K&N or UNI  Edited October 8, 2006 by AssWhore Quote
