Duke Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Well no cool story to this one. (parking break doesn't work....) No leaking or obvious over heating. Can I expect problems from this, or is it mainly cosmetic? Easy my mind guys! Quote
crazybluerider Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Well its kinda ugly but if there isnt any leaks and your bike cools fine i wouldnt worry about it. Just keep an eye open for a leak to develop because it may be a little weak where it is bent. Quote
fastcar01 Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 The grill shoudl cover that, run it! If it does leak, just solder it. You alwasy could just bend those fins off, but temp gage is nice when you start doing things like that. Quote
pipebomb Posted August 19, 2006 Report Posted August 19, 2006 if it isn't leaking or overheating. don't worry about it. Quote
LiftdT4R Posted August 19, 2006 Report Posted August 19, 2006 Not too get too mathmatical here, but if there is no leak you should be fine. According to Clymer, once 20% of the original surface area is gone, it is time to replace it. Kinda hard to caluculate, but mine is definately worse, and I have run it for about a year now no problems, the new oens are so darn expensive for a big hunk of aluminum. Quote
CadillacBanshee Posted August 20, 2006 Report Posted August 20, 2006 Looks like a good excuse to buy a prodesign. Quote
EastCoast Banshee Posted August 20, 2006 Report Posted August 20, 2006 If your really worried about it you should be able to pick up a good used one for next to nothing. I saw a few go on ebay for under 50. Quote
