Having some trouble installing a new pingle valve. When I screw the valve in all the way it wants the nipples want to face towards the front of the bike, so I figured I could get it to face more towards the carbs by wrapping it a bunch of times with teflon tape and then screwing it in almost all the way but leave it pointed towards the carbs... so wrapeed it 6 times with teflon tape and gas still leaks past the threads.... any ideas? I could try more tape but I just want to make sure im not wasting my time doing something wrong.... any Cons with it facing towards the head? Just dont want to melt fuel lines because they are touching the head.

I just installed mine with no problems. It says in the instructions to wrap the threads with teflon 3 times or thread damage will occur. Did you wrap them the first time you installed it? You want to make sure you have a straight non restrictive route for your fuel lines to follow or you may run into problems with the motor running lean from fuel starvation. Just happened to mine and siezed my right cylinder. I was auctually surprised at the poor quality of the Pingel valve because of the high price it has I figured you wouldnt have the manufacture tell you to use teflon tape to ensure it dosent leak!

I have one also and it also leaks im not sure why though. I followed the instructions as well. My tank has been sitting on a shelf for about 8 months now while I made a few mods. Here is a pic to show how much it has been leaking.

Mine worked flawlessly for a month! One night at the drags it decided it was gonna start leaking. The leak turned into a small stream and after about 30 mins it was pouring out. Ended up being the rubber gasket between the plate and the tank. It split out where the standpipe goes into tank allowing alky to run down over everything incuding my leg. I made a new gasket out of a truck innertube and it seems to be holding.

Thanks for the responses... ill rewrap the teflon tape and tighten it down all the way... while i'm at it, does anyone know the fuel line size to fit 35mm PWK's? 3/16 is waaay to small.

Make sure you wrap the tape in the right direction. That would be clockwise with the fittings facing you. If not the tape will ball up when you thread the fitting in and it will for sure leak. I have 35mm PWK Airstrikers and I have 1/4 fuel lines installed on my Pingel valve going to the carbs.

Yep what he said...Ive had my pingel for a while no, no leaks so far.

I also used 1/4 fuel lines for my lectrons.

I have to admit, that fuel valve wasnt worth the money.IMHO

My stock valve was leaking so I went to the pingle and have no leaks, and it's pointing at the carbs. Like said before, do the 3 wraps, with the threads, and it should be just fine.

If you guys wanna save some money buy another stock fuel valve and install it on the other side of the gas tank. Run one line from each valve to each carb. Pretty much all a pingel is. Cheap and it works.

As great as this sounds I'm pretty sure that the the fuel tank is lower on the side with the valve, which would mean if you start to run out of gas you could potentialy compleatly starve one cylinder.

I'd like to do this if you figured out a way to make it work without having to worry about potentialy blowing up my motor. The stock splitter sucks so I was goign to get a pingel but damn you get rapped on the price!
