Hey guys,

I am going to have my banshee tested on the dyno today and I was wondering how much is the HP on a stock banshee? and how much should I get with the mods listed on my signature?

The cranking pressure is 197psi.

I'll post the dyno results when I get them

A stock banshee should be around 35 hp

I think you're going to be around 50-55 hp

Let me know how close I am

Stock horsepower should be around 47-49 horses..............

That boost bottle should add at least 20 Hp............ :yelrotflmao:

197 psi :baseball_w00t: I hope you are runnin' race fuel at that level.

You're kidding on that right? You'll be lucky to get 45 to 50 out of a piped, podded and jetted shee with a timing plate. Leaving compression stock on a banshee...bolt ons only...that's about what you're gonna get...

It's somewhere between 33 and 38 HP on a bone stock shee...

A bone stock banshee is supposed to have 38 hp.

I going to guess you should run mid to high fifties maybe low sixties give or take a few. :baseball_shifty:

When I got my Banshee the title said 49 hp. My friend had one with Toomey's, 2 into 1 air filter(no airbox), and mild porting( 3 - 4 hp), and the carbs set up right and his pulled 64 on the Dyno where he worked. They should be close to 60 with a fresh motor, pipes, opened up intake and the right jetting. The 2004/05 TRX450R's were supposed to have 33 and compared to my old stock Banshee, since you all say they are more like 35hp stock, I'd said the 450R didn't have but 20. My WR450 is supposed to have 47 the way I have it and isn't not even close to the power my Banshee had modded. Stock it was about the same as the WR is now. 49 might be a little high but not much. 2 or 3 hp maybe.

Stock IS around 34-36hp in most cases. Yamaha really dumbs these things down from the factory. Throw every penny you make at them and you can really wake them up. Its not really that hard to get a banshee up around 80-90hp on race gas. Put them on alky and it gets even more ridiculous.

sence were on the topic of horsepower, how about a banshee with a fresh engine, t5's, vforce3, 21 cc domes, timing plate, dune port and dual pod filters running 93 octane at sea level.

Proably around high 50s. I would guess anybody running stk porting would be lucky to see anything above fifty.Sorry i didnt see the first guy had porting in his sig.

EW EW Me too :notworthy:

The Dyno I was refering to was used to set up Joe Byrds 450R last year before Loretta Lynn's. It showed 62 on his Honda. Who ever says I'm full of shit can tell him that too and the guy who had the Banshee.

If you ONLY have pipes, K&N filter, Reeds, and down 1cc on the head (stock is 22cc) which is what you've listed...and it said 66HP, I'm not saying you are full of shit, I'm saying that dyno is way off or broken.

You could have the best bolt on parts direct from Yamaha...you aint getting over 50Hp on that motor until you start porting it, period.

I'm not debating the fact the dyno said that, but I'm telling you with 100% certainty it was way off, peroid.

Not to mention, I think when Ricky Charmichael rode for Honda a few years back, HIS 450 only made 58 or 62HP... RC got parts Joe Byrd could only DREAM of... The forks on his bike probably cost more than Joe Byrd's whole quad...
