Duke Posted August 8, 2006 Report Posted August 8, 2006 (edited) Do these work well? How hard was it to install? http://www.sweetquads.com/index.php?action...=17&prevstart=0 Edited August 8, 2006 by Duke Quote
slowpokebanshee Posted August 8, 2006 Report Posted August 8, 2006 very well made product, looks nice, fairly straight forward install, maybe an hour? but to be quite honest, I don't use it for anything other than a clock, can't use it while riding, hard to read, or I forget it's there, but after you get back to camp you can push one of the buttons and see your max speed/avg speed for the day....kinda' cool, probably does a lot of other stuff too, but I like the clock, and it looks nice, and a lot of attention too, people don't know what it is GPS? palystation or what....get the nice billet mount and matching bars too, they look great together Quote
aczar Posted August 8, 2006 Report Posted August 8, 2006 I had one on my 400ex a few years ago and it was pretty much the most useless thing I had ever purchased. Could not read the thing at all while riding and the speedometer never worked right it would skip around from 20 mph and I would accelerate and the thing would jump up to like 85mph and then go back down to like 65 and I would only be doing 30 or so. So in my opinion stay away from that thing it sucked! Unless they have done significant improvements on it in the last few years which from their web site it dosent appear to have changed at all. flipcarre Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 Does this thing put how many hours the bike has been on? Because if it does it would be helpfull for an accurate oil change everytime. Quote
MYquadsFaster Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 i have one on my banshee and the idea is great but i think they have a way to come...its got all sorts of functions like total trip time, max speed, avg speed, hours on bike (unless u reset it) maintenance reminders( you can set oil change times every so many miles) distance traveled, and you can set it up for 2 bikes if you want, and they illuminate at night....i barely use mine...i probably would if it were easier but theres only 3 buttons and you have to set the tire size for it to be accurate..... in conclusion too many functions.....not enough buttons ... what they need to make is a speedometer/hour meter/Rpm meter/temp guage.... bodge Posted August 11, 2006 Report Posted August 11, 2006 the vapor is the one to go for, fitted mine last week and its far better than the endurance one that was fitted when i got my shee. Quote
Fre530d Posted August 11, 2006 Report Posted August 11, 2006 I have one on my YFZ. I think it work great. I need it here to drive on the roads so I don't get any speed tickets. If you configure it right , it will be very accurate, especially on road tires. But I have paid a lot more for it, 160 dollars here in Belgium without the mount. For the billet mount I had to pay another 160 dollar. GRTZ Fred Quote

The prices here in Belgium are just too expensive. I even save Euro's when I pay shipping + tax afterwards. GRTZ Fred Quote
knight_ripper Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 I have the Trail Tech Endurance 12 point computer. I love it. U cant use it while riding....but then again ...I really dont want to look down at 75 - 80 miles an hour. I use it for Ride Time and max speed. the clock is cool too. lets me know when I need to get back to camp. also ... i bought mine when i did my top end. I know exactly the amount of miles and hours I have put on it. LOVE IT! Not to mention it looks cool and no-one ever knows what it is. LOL....what is that? LOL. the vapor looks great....i dont know that I will get it though. Mine works just fine. Had a problem with my install tho. I didnt have the magnet and the receptor close enough. I wasnt getting an accurate readout and it was because I needed it a cunt hair closer to the receptor. bent the dust cover you attached it too and it worked great. still works great 2 yrs later. [email protected] Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 the trailtech computer ? shit is garbage !!! i own it ! And the only thing i use it for is looks .. and to get a average speed . Preety much a waste of money if you ask me . Yeah it accumalates riding time and all that shit , but it also glitches when wet . Install is about a good hour and to me its a total waste of time , money , effort ....... rather own a gps with a handlebar clamp . Quote
