I'm thinking of putting nitrous on my bike. Now i won't be using it alot, as i know engines can go. It will be for looks as well. But as i am new to this subject any body who has experience on this topic, i would appreciate any info.

Like is there a button or switch to activate,

What gear to use it,

Where the best place to order it from,

Any other mods required.

Thanks.

Im not a nitrous pro but ill give u as much info as i kno yah its button/switch activated if i was using nos probly bottom of 5th gear in a longer run do u have a weld on ur crank? that would be needed. Dont run it through your carbs run it through the intake manifold into ur reeds but dont use carbon fiber reeds unless u plan on replacing them frequently the frayed ends of the carbon fiber reeds atomize the air fuel alot better but wear and damage very quickly expecially VF3`s heard most people only get 1 run out of them more runs out of the 2s, stock reeds work the best all this reed info ive read across other forums mostly Planetsand

I am very partial to the Boondocker system. I have installed them on my Mountian Sleds but not on a Quad. What I like about the system is it applies pressure to the float bowls when you are on the system so you do not have to jet fat for the juice. I was thinking of installing a kit on my Drag Shooter but after riding it the 426 stroker is more than I can handle at this time. Check out their web site for more info or give Rocky a call for more info. He is a great guy to work with. As far as the activation of the system I think you could use the manual button or better yet if you have a aftermarket CDI you could use the added trigger to activate it, and I believe they are programable on some of them

If your using it for drag racing and have an override trans hit the switch right after you launch out of the hole...If you have a normal trans I would hit it around 3rd gear...If you run a small shot you should have no issues and it should run for a long time....I would reccomend tz bearings and a welded crank...I currently have a NOS setup for sale with everything from the carbs to the all the brackets...PM if interested...Oh yea one more thing about nitrous....HOLD ON! lol

I had nitrous on my Z-400 and tried it both ways, with a button and the full throttle method. I persoanlly like the full throttle method the best. It is hard to press that little button when your riding around on rough terrain. Where the full throttle method worked good for me. I got good enough where i could use almost all of the throttle and could stop right before the NOS was activated, like 1 and 2nd gear, then i could mash the throttle in the other gears and the NOS worked perfect.

As for the type of systems i cant help ya i have heard both good and bad from both types. The BossNoss system is supposed to be pretty good and easy to install although i have never installed one so i dont know for sure.

Thanks guys for the help!

Where would i be able to purchase a nos kit from?

If you are a planetsand member contact Hendersonracing. They will give good deals on nx kits. That is what alot of the guys are running. Their web site is http://www.hendersonracing.net/. The best way to run them is on a wide open switch in your thumb throttle housing. Also doesn't hurt to have another switch in your clutch so you can hold the clutch in and clean the bike out without spraying it. If you do it right their is quite a bit to it. Regulating bottle pressure, placing a battery on the bike. And alot of practice with jetting. Replacing reeds often. I've thought about putting a kit on mine but seeing what some of the guys have to go thru I think it would be less hassle to just build a bigger motor.
