DemonShee Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 I have been in the process of building my shee now for 2 weeks. I have everything stripped off the bike to start. I dont think there was hardly a bolt not left undone. I have painted, and had my frame professionaly painted (see signature) and basically did a whole new motor, the only thing left fron original is the cases and the tranny stuff, everything else is new. The quad still doesn't even have the motor in it yet and I have spent a good 30 hours pluss on the assembly so far. MAN it is clean though. Spent 12 solid hours on it yesterday and that was just doing the suspension basically. Shewwww its some work when your a perfectionist like I am. I watch the guys on American Chopper and I can now see why haveing a week to build a bike is a serious undertaking. Although I have dome my quad basically bymyself and thats a big difference. Plus I have had to do it in my Father-in-laws shop with sub-par tools at best. I think I would have saved myself alot of time and headaches if I would have just packed up my tools (a serius amount of tools) and took them all out to his shop. Tomorrow night I will post the picks in the pictures section of it hopefully from beginning to end. PLEASE QUAD GODS, LET ME HEAR IT RUN TOMORROW!!!! and PLEASE dont let it Quote
DIRTMAN350 Posted May 30, 2006 Report Posted May 30, 2006 It is alot of work to do a complete rebuild from the ground up. Most people don't think about all the little things that go into a build. Quote
The Blaze Posted May 30, 2006 Report Posted May 30, 2006 i would love to have the time to tear my bike that far apart. this winter hopefully i can tear it down. BTW: this week i'm going to look at one!!!! Quote
racer Posted May 30, 2006 Report Posted May 30, 2006 Most people don't think about all the little things that go into a build. 522213[/snapback] one word: bearings those little fuckers are make or break on a ground up build, and they are expensive to boot. Quote

DemonShee Posted May 30, 2006 Author Report Posted May 30, 2006 This project started last October. Still not running. Have to go to a stealership tomorrow so I can look at a few things. Like how they run the wiring harness. Also need to look at the set up of the little breather lines and coolant lines. Almost there though, I think she will start tomorrow. Quote
Animalman294 Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 Ya thats what I am dredding putting it back together and making sure every little piece that I pulled off goes back on my bike the way I took it off. Then I get to work on the jetting , Oh joy, and hopefully I don't tear anything up in the process. I'm actually surprised that it all came apart as easy as it did. When I work on my trucks I usually break shit and have to replace things that weren't broken when I started . But hey it whould go together fine.................... Quote
DemonShee Posted June 1, 2006 Author Report Posted June 1, 2006 Not running yet unfortunatly. Mostly do to me being so picky. Evry part that goes on is being cleaned and double checked. I have the right side of the exaust to do, the chain, the stator side cover, and gas tank to install. Fill it iwth fluids then, I can try starting it. Probably a good hour to 2 hours of work still to hear it run............I HOPE! Quote
